Rape and robbery victim tells her side of the story
SERDANG: The woman, whose rape by two men at an illegal gambling den in Bandar Kinrara was caught on CCTV, has come forward and lodged a report.
The 33-year-old Indonesian woman turned up at the district police headquarters on Tuesday evening.
Serdang OCPD Asst Comm Megat Mohamad Aminuddin Megat Alias said she reported that she was with her Bangladeshi colleague at the premises during the incident.
“The two suspects walked in on the pretext of being customers when the place was empty,” ACP Megat Mohamad Aminuddin told reporters.
“Then they brandished their knives and robbed the Bangladeshi.” The suspects, he said, then took turns to rape the woman.
“They also stole the identification and travel documents of both the victims before fleeing.
“The woman was afraid to come forward as she did not have any documents on her and took shelter at a friend’s house down south,” he said.
“She will be taken to Serdang Hospital for a thorough medical evaluation,” said ACP Megat Mohamad Aminuddin.
A 26-year-old man currently in police custody over the case, has a prior record for robbery in the Klang Valley. He was picked up in Kuala Selangor at 5.30pm on Sunday.
Police are looking for the other suspect.
ACP Megat Mohamad Aminuddin said police were also investigating the operations at the den.
“Based on our findings, it has been in operation for a month,” he said.
The owner of the shop lodged a report at the Bandar Kinrara police station on Saturday. The crime allegedly took place on Thursday and the CCTV footage went viral.
