KUALA LUMPUR: It is not a job you would want to sink your teeth into, but somebody has got to do it.

Enter the good men and women of the Fire and Rescue Department.

Six firefighters from the central headquarters in Jalan Hang Tuah here rushed to the aid of the woman who slipped when she wanted to recover the dentures which fell into the toilet bowl yesterday morning.

City Fire and Rescue Department chief operations officer Samsol Maarif Saibani said the team arrived at the scene located on the third floor of Anjung Singgah along Jalan Hang Lekiu around 8am and spent about three hours on the task.

“The woman is diabetic.

“She risked developing gangrene if her blood was not able to flow freely.”

“It was challenging to find the right tools for the mission but we managed to free her hand from the toilet at 11.30am,” he said.
