SUNGAI BULOH: More than 100 motorcyclists were forced to push their machines for at least five kilometres to the Elmina toll plaza during a roadblock at Guthrie Corridor Expressway early today.

Selangor Traffic police staff officer Assistant Superintendent Mohd Suwardi Mat Desa said a total of 116 motorcyclists were screened and 87 were fined for various traffic offences.

"Among the offences include not possessing valid driving licences, fancy-looking vehicle registration plates and illegally modified exhaust pipes.

"We also recovered two stolen motorcycles and nabbed the two culprits in the operation," he said.

The three-hour operation also saw eight people arrested under Section 42 of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless and dangerous driving.

Suwardi said a total of 41 motorcycles deemed as unroadworthy, were confiscated.

A total of 126 police personnel were involved in the midnight operation.
