2016 Malaysia King's birthday honours list

King's birthday honours list




PUTRAJAYA, June 4 (Bernama) -- Attorney-General Tan Sri Mohamed Apandi Ali heads a list of 1,546 recipients of 2016 Federal Orders, Decorations and Medals in conjunction with the birthday of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah.  Mohamed Apandi was the sole recipient of Darjah Panglima Mangku Negara (PMN) which carries the title Tan Sri.
Meanwhile, 52 recipients were bestowed the Darjah Kebesaran Panglima Setia Mahkota (PSM) which also carries the title Tan Sri.
Among the recipients were Federal Court Judge Datuk Ramly Ali, Federal Court Judge Datuk Azahar Mohamed, Federal Court Judge Datuk Zaharah Ibrahim, senior deputy secretary-general Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Othman Mahmood and Foreign Ministry secretary-general Datuk Othman Hashim.

Other recipients of the PSM were Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry secretary-general Datuk Seri Dr Noorul Ainur Mohd Nur, Education director-general Datuk Seri Dr Khair Mohamad Yusof, Public Service Commission chairman Datuk Seri Arpah Abdul Razak and Malaysian Islamic Development Department director-general Datuk Othman Mustafa. 

Apart from that, the PSM was also conferred on National Culture and Arts Department director-general Datuk Norliza Rofli, Securities Commission Malaysia executive chairman Datuk Seri Ranjit Singh a/l Ajith Singh, Malaysian Council of Former Elected Representatives information chief Datuk Abdul Rahman Sulaiman, Latimer Corporation Sdn Bhd managing director Datuk Dennis Chandratheepam Latimer, Axiata Group Berhad president and group executive director Datuk Seri Jamaludin Ibrahim.

Also receiving the PSM were Widad Business Group's group executive chairman Datuk Seri Muhammad Ikmal Opat Abdullah, Cyberjaya University College of Medical Sciences Pro Chancellor Datuk R.Palaniappan, Chief of Navy Admiral Datuk Seri Ahmad Kamarulzaman Ahmad Badaruddin, deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Noor Rashid Ibrahim and former Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Senator Datuk Seri Abdul Wahid Omar.

Apart from that, the PSM which carries the title Tan Sri was also bestowed on UMNO Wanita chief/Women's Economic Advisor Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil, Selangor State Federal Action Council adviser Datuk Seri Noh Omar, Kampar Jaya MIC division chairman Datuk S.Veerasingam, Parti Bersatu India Malaysia president Datuk Seri S.Nallakaruppan, Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu Wanita chief Datuk Seri Empiang anak Antak. 

Also receiving the PSM were Parti Progresif Penduduk Malaysia financial advisor Datuk M.N Puvanendran, Federation of Malaysian Manfacturers president Datuk Seri Saw Choo Boon and former Plantation Industries and Commodities deputy minister, Datuk Noriah Kasnon (Posthumously) who died in a helicopter crash in Sebuyau, Sarawak on May 5.

Meanwhile, 79 people were awarded the Panglima Jasa Negara (PJN) which carries the title 'Datuk', including the late Kuala Kangsar Member of Parliament Datuk Wan Mohammad Khair-il Anuar Wan Ahmad (posthumous) and Secretary-General of the Ministry of the Plantation Industries and Commodities (Posthumous) who were killed in the helicopter accident in Sarawak on May 5. 

The award was also given to former Deputy Public Prosecutor in the Attorney-General's Chambers, the late Datuk Anthony Kevin Morais (Posthumous) who was murdered in September 2015.

Also awarded the PJN were three Appeals Court Judges, namely Datuk Kamardin Hashim, Harminder Singh Dhaliwal and Ong Lam Kiat, as well as Legal Advisor in the Prime Minister's Department Datin Almalena Sharmila Johan Thambu, Director of Communications in the Finance Ministry Mohamad Ezam Mohd Nor, eye specialist and renowned speaker Prof Dr Che Muhaya Mohamad, Deputy President of the Association of Malaysian Armed Forces veterans (ATM) Kapten Sharuddin Omar, former president of Dong Zong Quek Chee Hiang @ Quek Suan Hiang and MIC secretary-general A. Sakthivel.

The Panglima Setia Diraja (PSD) award which carries the title 'Datuk' was awarded to three people, namely the Secretary of the Managment Services Division in the Prime Minister's Department Halimah Hashim, Assistant Chief of Staff of ATM Headquarters for Personnel Services Major General Mohd Yadi and aide-de-camp of the Sultan of Kedah Kolonel Datuk Tunku Aziz Bendahara Tunku Nong.

Meanwhile, 37 individuals received the Darjah Kebesaran Johan Mangku Negara (JMN) including the Deputy Head I of the Legal Division in the Attorney-General's Chambers Alice Loke Yee Ching and dental expert Dr Rashidah Burhanudin.

The recipients of the JMN award are Head of Department and Consultant Otorhinolaryngology at the Tuanku Jaafar Hospital Dr K.A. Valuyeetham, Director-General of the Handicraft Development Corporation Zuraida Mokhtar, former Deputy President of the Malaysian Construction Wholesalers Association Aziz Bahaman, Melaka State Police Chief DCP Datuk Ramli Din and Penang Deputy Police Chief DCP Datuk A.Thaiveegan.

83 people received the Johan Setia Mahkota (JSM) including the Senior Consultant (Paediatric) at the Sultanah Fatimah Specialist Hospital, Muar, Johor Dr Angeline Wang Seng Lian and Director of TV Programming, Broadcasting Department, Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) Norliza Mohd Ali. 

The Johan Setia Diraja (JSD) Award was also conferred on the Private Secretary of the Tuan Yang Terutama di-Pertuan Negeri Sarawak Datu Mustapa Han and five other recipients.

The Bintang Kesatria Mangku Negara (KMN) were given to 224 people including Sentul Disgtrict Police Chief ACP R.Munusamy, Senior Director of the Malaysian Statistics Department Abd Latib Talib, Communications Officer in the Office of the Chief Secretary to the Government Ahmad Shukran Shaharuddin, Putrajaya District Police Chief ACP Rosly Hassan and President of Persatuan Seniman Malaysia Rozaidi Abdul Jamil.

Bintang Kesatria Setia Diraja (KSD) was awarded to 10 people including Music Director in Kuala Lumpur City Hall Mohamad Adzan Mohamad Fauzi and Civil Engineer in the Facility Management Division of the Public Works Department  Azme Hassan. 

National diving queen Pandelela Rinong Pamg, teacher in the Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Wira Penrissen, Kota Samarahan Sarawak Chong Siau Chen and Executive Secretary of the Malaysian Welfare Centre Siti Fadilah Sudin were among the 374 recipients of the Bintang Ahli Mangku Negara (AMN).


A total of 596 individuals also received the Pingat Pangkuan Negara (PPN), including former bodyguard of the Deputy Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities Lance Corporal Ahmad Sobri Harun (Posthumous) who was killed in the helicopter crash in Sarawak, as well as 81 others listed as recipients of the Pingat Bentara Setia Diraja (BSD). -- BERNAMA
