GEORGE TOWN: A girl who had just finished her SPM went to Star Education Fair 2016 with her family, and they all ended up happy winners in The Star’s popular Spin & Win Contest.
“I won a Samsung Galaxy Tab A, my dad won the Fitbit Charge Wristband, my mum won a RM200 Parkson voucher and my sister won a power bank,” said Teoh Wen Quien, 18.
Star Media Group audience management senior manager (North) Oun Sui Leng presented the prize to her.
Wen Quien had just finished her SPM and went to the fair in search of tertiary education courses with her family.
She said: “I didn’t expect all of us to win. My main purpose was to look for good courses in Accounting and Finance.”
This is not the first time that the family had won prizes in contests.
“We went to Star Property Fair in Alor Setar last year and joined the contest too. All of us won prizes there and my sister walked away with a Samsung Galaxy Note 5,” said Wen Quien.
Another second-time winner was Ong Gaik Chew, 70, who won a Samsung Galaxy A7 smartphone.
“I won a Samsung Galaxy Tab at Star Property Fair in Queensbay Mall last year,” said a smiling Ong.
She said her daughter had brought her to the fair and she decided to join the contest.
“I feel so lucky. I will start using this phone right away.”
Seven grand prizes were up for grabs daily at the two-day fair which ended yesterday.
The prizes included the Samsung Galaxy A7, Samsung Galaxy Tab A, Fitbit Charge Wristband, Sony power bank as well as shopping and F&B vouchers.
