SUBANG JAYA: Police have arrested 13 men in a series of raids around Batu Caves over a samurai sword attack that left two men with horrific slash wounds in their arms.
Selangor CID chief Deputy Comm Datuk Mohd Adnan Abdullah said the men, aged 21 to 44, were arrested at about 7pm on Thursday.
The arrests came just hours after the suspects allegedly ambushed two men in a shoplot at Taman Samudra in Batu Caves. One of them allegedly used a samurai sword to slash the victims’ arms.
The 23 and 33-year-old victims then ran to a clinic at about 3.30am Thursday to seek treatment.
One of the victims is unconscious at the Selayang Hospital intensive care unit (ICU) while the other is in the emergency ward.
“We still don’t know what the motive of the attack was. We also didn’t find any weapons that may have been used in the case during the raids," Mohd Adnan said.
He said the suspects would be remanded and investigated for assault with a deadly weapon.

PETALING JAYA: Two men had their arms broken and were repeatedly slashed in a bloody incident in Taman Samudra in Batu Caves on Wednesday morning.

The men, aged 23 and 33, with blood gushing from their bodies, managed to run to a clinic which later called emergency responders at about 3.30am.

Their injuries, so severe that bones could be seen protruding from the wounds, are said to be “grievous” with the 33-year-old still unconscious in Selayang Hospital's intensive care unit (ICU). His other friend is being treated in the emergency ward.

Police are still unable to establish a motive, saying that the 23-year-old victim was telling them an “unbelievable story”.
The man had claimed that he and his friend had gone to the shoplot in the wee hours of the morning because they were invited there to collect some form of salary.

It was there that they were ambushed by about six men, one of whom was reportedly wielding a samurai sword, who slashed them several times in the arms.

“We have identified six suspects. But we don’t know what is the motive of the attack. We have to wait until we get a full statement from the victims,” said Gombak OCPD Asst Com Ali Ahmad.
