Vell Paari hits out at Kayveas for claiming that his party could be voice to the Indian community as there is no voice in the BN coalition

MIC hits out at Kayveas over offer to represent Indians

PETALING JAYA: MIC has called on fellow coalition member myPPP to assist Barisan Nasional chairman Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak instead of criticising its component members.
MIC central working committee (CWC) member Datuk Seri Vell Paari (pic) said myPPP president Tan Sri M. Kayveas should focus its effort in assisting Najib and Barisan not destroy all its hard work.
“After component leaders from Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad's era left, almost all Barisan component parties have seen two to three changes in leadership.
“Barisan under the energised stewardship of Najib has gained its lost ground on the DAP-led coalition,” claimed Vell Paari in a statement on Monday.
He reiterated that MIC is focused and committed to empower the Indian community and support the Prime Minister in his quest to transform the country.
Vell Paari reminded myPPP that even though they did not perform well in the 13th General Elections, Najib has not neglected the party and even gave a deputy minister’s post to one of his party members.
“Kayveas should use the benefit given to his party to ensure a Barisan victory and not demonise component members.
“If he is frustrated over something, he should see Najib personally. Don't vent it publicly.”
In a local newspaper daily report on Monday, Kayveas was quoted as saying that myPPP was ready to become the representative of Indians in Barisan. He claimed that his party could be voice to the Indian community as there is no voice in the coalition for the Indians from political parties.
Kayveas went on to say that ‘Indian leaders’ in Barisan had a poor track record in giving aid to the Indian people, choosing only to give it to ‘selected people’.
