English Premier League side Queens Park Ranger's owner Tan Sri Tony Fernandes went on a Twitter rant against fans who had criticised the side's 2-0 loss at West Ham, telling them it is "damned easy to be arm chair critics".
Fernandes was responding to the barrage of abuse he received after the weekend's result, which saw them become rooted to the foot of the Premier League table.
Several British newspapers picked up his tweets where he gave his opinion on the game and also openly answered questions as to why the club was in such a situation.
The Daily Mirror reported that Fernandes addressed the team's performance over the last few years, comparing it with teams who also have been recently relegated and how they bounced back.
Two days ago, Fernandes was unhappy with the team, telling them their performance was "just not good enough" and that they need to "get ready for battle".
"Stand tall and be brave. we got good players. Its time they get fit and get ready for battle," he had tweeted.
Then, following replies from fans expecting better performances, Fernandes tweeted: "A couple of things. We got promoted. Please note where other clubs who got relegated are. Pls remember how many clubs got straight up," said Fernandes who is also AirAsia boss.
Yesterday, he also wrote on his Twitter account: "That's it. There should be no more excuses from anyone especially me. Buck stops at me. I'm up for the battle.
"I'm not stupid or a quitter. All I can assure fans is as always we will be transparent and leave no stone unturned to stay up and build.
"Look at the stats. The goal was never a goal. Took the wind out of us. The second goal was against the run of play. No excuses. We still should ha e dine (have done) better."
Mail Online reported that Fernandes was upset with criticism from fans, who suggested that the club's failure to replace French forward Loic Remy was to blame for their poor form so far.
Remy joined Chelsea just before the summer transfer deadline.
Fernandes tweeted: "When we lost Remy 48 hours before deadline day it was huge huge blow. Huge blow. But we fight on. Stop sendind (sic) me ridiculous tweets.
"I love the Remy comments. Remy was staying, he was in my house for dinner to sign the extension. Then Chelsea called. What back up pls (sic).
"Yeah I can pull out a striker in 24 hours. We tried hard with (Fabio) Borini. So pls (sic) tell me me what you would have done. Dammed easy to be arm chair critics."
A check on Twitter revealed that Fernandes had removed some of his tweets.
Twitter user QPR Report tweeted: "Unless I'm misreading deleted @TonyFernandes Tweets included "arm chair critics" & "Stop sendind me ridiculous tweets."
Another user 'ghostdog' wrote "@QPRReport @tonyfernandes I don't believe it. Deleted one of my lovely tweeties, for instance? Never. He should stop tweeting anyway."
