The Festival Of Lights Will Illuminate The Mosaic This year as in Past Year As Mandarin Oriental Gives Tribute to the Food and Culture of Indians.




Deepavali, is a major Indian festival that is very significant in Hinduism. Known as the "Festival of Lights," it symbolizes the victory of good over evil orthe absence of darkness in the presence of light. It is the celebration of hope,new beginning, prosperity, happiness and peace. Lamps are lit as a sign of celebration and hope for humankind. The celebrations focus on lights and lamps with colourful “rangolikolam”, i.e.: coloured rice skilfully decorated creating a beautify art design. 




The Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur launched their their Festival Of Light - Best of Indian Offering on Thursday night in a simple but meaningful ceremony that gave tribute to the Indian Culture and Food.



Guest were warmly welcomed at the Lobby Lounge - Mosaic Restaurant entrance by Mr. Richard Todd Johnson, The Hotel Manager and Aruljothy Paramjothy, the Assistant Director of F&B. The Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur has this unique ability to make every guest feel so special and believe that they are the VIP of the hotel. Management and Staff do a great job in making everyone feel welcome and almost at home.



Staff who got into the spirit of the evening by wearing Indian Traditional Costumes. Chinese and Malay hostesses donned colourful sarees. This in a way emphasized the potpourri of cultures in Malaysia and the way we celebrate each others festivals, which makes this country a unique place.




The event kicked off with the light of the lights around the Kolam, Guest were then treated to a few bharatanatyam  dances. It was a beautiful display of Indian traditional decoration, music and dance to inaugurate the celebration of light at the MOSAIC. Guest were served Lassi and Masala Tea  as they watch the indian cultural dances. The tea was so flavorful and the Lassi was made to perfection

All the Guest were then ushered into the Mosaic Restaurant to enjoy the Indian inspired buffet spread. The Chef and crew members elegantly displayed the best-of-the-best of Indian cuisine. High profile patrons from all races and nationalities were seen heartily tucking in the food. They had almost everything you could think of . Food was excellent and it was like visiting the home of an Indian friend. You could feel the home cook flavors, warmth and passion in the food.






They had almost everything that is ....... and this is when a "Wow Factor" happened. A guest commented how come there was no mutton curry. Within 20 minutes, The Chef whipped up an awesome Mutton Curry that was second to none presented it to guest with Puri and Naans on the side. The Chefs at the Mandarin are so accommodating that its no surprise that tima and again since it's opening the hotel is No. 1 in Kuala Lumpur.
