Lewis scored as early as the second minute when he received a pass from Mateo Kovacic.
Anthony Elanga's introduction early in the second half almost paid off for Forest, but his effort went wide and City added to the tally five minutes later through Guardiola's header.
Forest almost closed the gap but Morgan Gibbs-White and substitute Taiwo Awoniyi's attempts were denied by the goal post.
Pep Guardiola's side will face Crystal Palace, who beat Aston Villa 3-0 on Saturday, in the final on May 17. – REUTERS
