KUALA LUMPUR: Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) team captain and main goalkeeper Mohd Farizal Marlias is in stable condition following an injury suffered in an alarming incident during the Super League match against Terengganu FC (TFC) at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium, Iskandar Puteri, last night. .
However, Mohd Farizal, who is also the number one goalkeeper of the national squad, will remain under observation, apart from having to undergo several medical tests at the hospital, according to a post on the Johor Southern Tigers' official Facebook page.
Earlier, JDT owner Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim visited Mohd Farizal at the hospital.
Mohd Farizal was injured following a collision with teammate Shane Lowry when he tried to save a cross from TFC midfielder Muhammad Syafik Ismail in the 61st minute.
Mohd Farizal who seemed to be unconscious had to be carried out and the reserve goalkeeper, Muhammad Haziq Nadzli was brought in to replace him.
The Southern Tigers won 2-1 in the clash thanks to two headers by striker Bergson da Silva which cancelled out Kpah Sherman's equalizer, helping the team maintain a 100 per cent winning record in four games to lead the league.
