PEKA President Puan Sri Shariffa Sabrina has been charged on three counts of occupying government land without legal permission

President Peka is accused of occupying government land without permission.

RAUB - President of  NGO Peka, Puan Seri Shariffa Sabrina Syed Akil was charged at the Raub Sessions Court here today on three charges of occupying government land without legal permission.

However, the accused pleaded not guilty to the three charges which were read out by an interpreter before Judge Ahmad Faizadh Yahya.

According to the first charge sheet, the accused who is also the Founder of Aina Resort and Restaurant Land Network was charged with committing an offense without legal permission to occupy government land in Lot 26148, GM4135 Mukim Bentong, namely Aina Fareena Cafe & Restaurant Land Network in Bentong at 2pm, 11 June 2021 .


The second charge is that the accused was charged with committing an offense without legal permission to occupy government land in Lot 1053, PM0053 Mukim Ulu Dong, which is the Aina Fahad Glamping Resort Land area in Raub, Pahang at 2pm on June 10, 2021.

Meanwhile, for the third charge, the accused was charged with committing an offense without legal permission to occupy government land in Lot 10061, GM1572 Mukim Tras, which is the area currently inhabited by Tanah Aina Farrah Soraya Exclusive Eco Resort in Raub, Pahang.

For the three offenses, the accused is charged with committing an offense under Section 425 (1) (a) of the National Land Code 1965 which is to occupy or construct any building on any government land, reserve land or mining land.


If convicted, the accused can be fined not more than RM500,000 or imprisoned for a term not exceeding five years for each charge.

The charge was handled by the Prosecuting Officer of the State Secretary's Office, Izzat Ikhwan while the accused was represented by five lawyers led by Mohd. Arif Mohan |

Earlier, Izzat asked the court to impose bail of RM10,000 for each charge to ensure that the accused appears at the next trial and based on the accused's attempt to delay the case previously.




Apart from that, he also asked the court to prohibit the accused from issuing statements on social media and to the mass media about the case so as to disrupt the progress of the case.

However, the accused's lawyer requested that no bail be set and if there is bail, it should be at a minimum rate based on the cooperation given by the accused as well as the accused's contribution in the state and country eco -tourism which is famous around the world.

The judge then set bail at RM3,000 for each charge and asked that the accused not generally not issue a statement on the case out of court.
