PETALING JAYA: She found him on Tinder and invited him over to her place for sex.
She then robbed him using a knife and got away with his handphone and money.
However, she was caught for her crime.
The Sessions Court yesterday sentenced Mizan Qistina Razali to six years in jail after ruling that the prosecution had proven its case beyond reasonable doubt.
It ordered the 24-year-old college student to serve her jail time from the date of sentencing.
Mizan Qistina and a man still at large had robbed Foong Wei Chieh, 34, using a knife and taken his handphone and RM1,500 cash.
The offence was committed at Cova Suites, Jalan Teknologi, Kota Damansara, near here at 9.30pm on Nov 24, 2016, according to the charge sheet.
She was charged under Section 397 of the Penal Code. The provision carries a maximum 20 years’ imprisonment and whipping.
Earlier, lawyer Norhasham Hasan, who represented the accused, asked the court to mete out a lenient sentence on grounds that his client was a young offender and it was her first offence.
“My client was influenced by her ex-boyfriend. She had to support her family as her father was not working,” said Norhasham.
Deputy public prosecutor Asyhraf Ashyari Kamaruzaman, however, asked for a heavier sentence as the accused had premeditated the crime and used a dangerous weapon.
The court allowed Norhasham’s application for a stay of execution pending an appeal while maintaining the bail at RM7,000.
According to the statement of facts, Mizan Qistina invited the victim to her condominium for sex after she got to know him on the online dating site Tinder.
The victim then went to her unit and found her already naked. However, another man entered the unit and an altercation ensued.
The victim was then robbed. The accused went to the victim’s car, took his wallet which contained his ATM card and withdrew his money.
