How each English Premier League club had fared in the transfer market over the last two months.
Premier League transfer window review: Manchester United chased everyone and Arsenal signed just one (Petr) Cech... but did your club get what they wanted?
Transfer window closed opened on July 1 and closed on September 1
Premier League clubs now cannot sign players until January 2016

After two frantic months and dozens of deals, the transfer window has closed until the new year.
As the dust settled after another manic deadline day, we asked our reporters to rate how each Premier League club had fared in the transfer market over the last two months.
Here's what they think...
Arsenal (by Sami Mokbel)
How do you rate their transfer business this summer?
They made such a promising start with the early capture of Petr Cech but it ended very, very poorly. They could well regret their failure to land a striker.
4/10

Petr Cech: Arsene Wenger presented a project I believe in
Who is their signing of the summer?
Petr Cech, £11m, Chelsea
Errrrr, because he was their only signing. To be fair it was a significant signing; Cech will end their long-running goalkeeping problems.
Which signing has the most to prove?
Petr Cech, £11m, Chelsea
Errrrr, because he was their only signing. Cech, though, has nothing to prove.
Aston Villa (by Joe Ridge)
How do you rate their transfer business this summer?
Lost their two key players in Christian Benteke and Fabian Delph and, while all that money has been reinvested in the squad, Tim Sherwood has gambled mainly on players with no Premier League experience.
5.5/10
Who is their signing of the summer?
Adama Traore, £7m, Barcelona
The winger's turn of pace for Villa's equaliser at Crystal Palace was frightening. Looks destined for the top and Barcelona have a buy-back option for the next three years.
+20
Former Barcelona youngster Adama Traore (above) looks a real find for Aston Villa on the wing
Which signing has the most to prove?
Micah Richards, free, Manchester City
You feel now really is sink-or-swim time for Richards' reputation as a top-class defender. Will he continue his downward spiral of the last few years or recapture his best form?
Bournemouth (by Riath Al-Samarrai)
How do you rate their transfer business this summer?
They needed to invest and they have done, adding significantly to the club's attacking options. But it is surprising that Tyrone Mings has not started a game having been signed for a club record £8m - and now he's injured. He will be a top player in the future, but Bournemouth need a quick impact. The signing of Glenn Murray seems astute and so did the purchase of Max Gradel, who has been unlucky to suffer injury so soon.
6.5/10
Who is their signing of the summer?
Max Gradel, £7m, St Etienne
He has the kind of pace and trickery that terrifies defenders - he was exactly what they needed. His knee injury is a terrible blow for the club.
+20
Bournemouth star Max Gradel (left) looked in pain as he injured a knee ligament against Leicester on Saturday
Which signing has the most to prove?
Tyrone Mings, £8m, Ipswich
He is an excellent prospect but, as detailed above, Bournemouth need people who will make a first-season impact. The extent of his injury will be key to whether he can force his way into the team.
Chelsea (by Sam Cunningham)
How do you rate their transfer business this summer?
Missed out on key targets, most notably defender John Stones, and the signings of Papy Djilobodji and Michael Hector are not the biggest names, but Pedro already looks a superb buy. Kept hold of their title winners.
5/10
Who is their signing of the summer?
Pedro, £21m, Barcelona
Easily. The £21m purchase from Barcelona has slotted straight into Chelsea’s starting line-up. They were in dire need of a star signing and Jose Mourinho eventually got one.
+20
Chelsea bizarrely signed defender Michael Hector from Reading on transfer deadline day
Chelsea new boy Michael Hector decks Messi at Copa America
Which signing has the most to prove?
Baba Rahman, £21.7m, Augsburg
The Ghanaian left back comes from Augsburg highly rated, but at a cost of £21.7m the 21-year-old has a lot to live up to.
Crystal Palace (by Sam Cunningham)
How do you rate their transfer business this summer?
Alan Pardew’s signings have been shrewd and significant. Yohan Cabaye for £14m from Paris Saint-Germain is way below market value and Bakary Sako looks a steal on a free from Wolves. Held firm against attempts to sign their own players for less than the value they wanted.
8/10
Who is their signing of the summer?
Yohan Cabaye, £14m, PSG
Sako is the most in-form of the new recruits in the early part of the season, but Cabaye is the one who, over the entire course of it, could make them contenders for Europe.
+20
Crystal Palace signed France international midfielder Yohan Cabaye in one of the shock deals of the summer
Which signing has the most to prove?
Connor Wickham, £9m, Sunderland
The striker is still only 22, but is yet to live up to the hype of his teenage years at Ipswich. Another big move to Palace where he will hope to spark his career into life.
Everton (by Dominic King)
How do you rate their transfer business this summer?
A few bodies brought in but nothing to grab the attention like Romleu Lukaku did 12 months ago. Keeping John Stones was a huge statement and one for which Everton deserve credit, but they lacked an arrival to capture the imagination. Roberto Martinez got what he wanted but the fans wouldn't say they did.
5.5/10
Who is their signing of the summer?
Gerard Deulofeu. He has the potential to be very, very exciting this season. He is still a rough diamond but if the edges get polished, he could become an outstanding performer on the right flank.
Which signing has the most to prove?
Ramiro Funes Mori. His fee jumped from £6.25m to £9.5m in the space of 10 days. The reports from Argentina haven't been entirely flattering and though some believe he is going to be the heart of Argentina's defence for many years alongside Nicolas Otamendi, he must prove his suitability for English football.
+20
Ramiro Funes Mori's arrival has been greeted with a mixed reception at Goodison Park
Leicester (by Joe Ridge)
How do you rate their transfer business this summer?
Losing the experience and drive of Esteban Cambiasso was a blow but overall Leicester's squad is stronger than last season, as their start has shown.
7/10
Who is their signing of the summer?
Gokhan Inler, £3m, Napoli
Losing Cambiasso was softened by signing the Switzerland captain. He is a different type of midfielder to the Argentine and brings a strong physical presence to the side.
+20
Switzerland captain and powerhouse midfielder Gokhan Inler (centre) is a high-profile signing by Leicester
Which signing has the most to prove?
Shinji Okazaki, £7m, Mainz
Started brightly, scoring in his second game against West Ham, but £7m looks a lot for a 29-year-old of his pedigree. Will need to share the goalscoring burden with Jamie Vardy.
Liverpool (by Dominic King)
How do you rate their transfer business this summer?
Initially impressive and they deserve credit for getting so many targets in so quickly. In recent weeks, though, you have to wonder whether the squad has the right balance and if they have failed to strengthen in the right areas.
7/10
Who is their signing of the summer?
Might seem an odd one to pick but Nathaniel Clyne stands out so far - £12.5m in today's market isn't a big outlay for an established England international and he's going to be the kind of 7/10 performer that will really benefit Liverpool. James Milner, Danny Ings and Joe Gomez must be given notable mentions too.
Which signing has the most to prove?
Christian Benteke. Harsh? Possibly. But when you come with a £32.5m price tag, big things are expected of you and the scrutiny will be on him - and Roberto Firmino - all season. It must be stressed that Benteke hasn't started badly but he has a big billing to live up to.
+20
Christian Benteke has started his Liverpool career well but has a lot to do to justify his £32.5m price tag
Manchester City (by Mike Keegan)
How do you rate their transfer business this summer?
City started the summer with three big targets and they have managed to land two of them, which is no mean feat (just ask their neighbours). Raheem Sterling and Kevin De Bruyne aside, the arrivals of Fabian Delph and Nicolas Otamendi have added depth to a squad that now looks incredibly strong. Business was done early which meant it was pipe and slippers time at the Etihad on deadline day.
8/10
Who is their signing of the summer?
Kevin De Bruyne, £52m, Wolfsburg
The complexities of the protracted deal for the former Chelsea man are too much to detail here but it is safe to say that City officials were faced with a selling club who would rather have seen their prized asset go to Bayern Munich or Paris St Germain. Many will question the logic of paying £52m for a man who 18 months ago cost £18m, but if the gifted and versatile midfielder settles then he will be a key addition.
+20
Belgian midfielder Kevin De Bruyne signed for Manchester City the day before the window closed
Which signing has the most to prove?
Raheem Sterling, £49m, Liverpool
Vilified by many for having the audacity to ask for a move from Liverpool, and when the fee was announced many gleefully claimed that the Merseysiders had got one over on the Mancs. They forget how much promise the England winger showed. Sterling has enjoyed a solid start to his career at City and if he can continue to let his feet do the talking rather than his agent £49m will seem like a decent bit of business for Manuel Pellegrini.
Manchester United (by Mike Keegan)
How do you rate their transfer business this summer?
Listen to some and you may think executive vice chairman Ed Woodward is the devil incarnate. Forget the keyboard warriors - this has not been a bad window for Woodward and Louis van Gaal. Plenty of the business was done early and in Bastian Schweinsteiger they have their marquee man at a bargain price (as long as he can stay fit). Morgan Schneiderlin adds power and control to midfield, Memphis Depay has already shown his explosive potential and Matteo Darmian appears to have quietly silenced a long-standing problem at right back. The jury is out on Anthony Martial and the effects of the David de Gea debacle remain to be seen but Van Gaal builds teams and multi-functional United are certainly now in his image.
7/10
+20
Anthony Martial arrived at Manchester United on transfer deadline day for a huge fee of £36m - and rising
Who is their signing of the summer?
Matteo Darmian, £14.4m, Torino
Right back has been a problem at Old Trafford since Gary Neville hung up his boots in 2011. Darmian, a snip in these days of gargantuan fees, has immediately established himself as a solid, intelligent presence who can actually defend. While bigger names have arrived, the Italian appears to represent United's best business.
Which signing has the most to prove?
Anthony Martial, £36m, Monaco
A no-brainer. £36m for a 19-year-old? He is the most expensive teenager in football and already he has talked a big game, labelling United the greatest club in England. Is there time for patience? Not given United's current issues up front.
Newcastle (by Craig Hope)
How do you rate their transfer business this summer?
Mike Ashley promised investment and he has been good to his word, to the tune of nearly £50m. The four major signings have all been of a certain type - young, from the continent and with potential sell-on value - and have brought a bit of excitement and optimism back to St James'. Still, though, I fear they have left themselves short of a goalscorer.
8/10
+20
Dutch international midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum (right) looks a real find for Newcastle and Steve McClaren
Who is their signing of the summer?
Georginio Wijnaldum, £14.5m, PSV
The Holland international, still just 24, was player of the year in his homeland last season and the Magpies look to have landed a real coup. He has already brought an offensive energy to the midfield and scored a sublime header on his debut.
Which signing has the most to prove?
Florian Thauvin, £13m, Marseille
At 22 he has time on his side and has started well, but Thauvin endured a difficult season last time around and was named in L'Equipe's worst XI of 2014-15. He is a winger with a big reputation and needs to come good on that promise in the Premier League.
Norwich (by Riath Al-Samarrai)
How do you rate their transfer business this summer?
Alex Neil has got his side playing well in the early stages of the season but he has made precious few changes since they were in the Championship. Factor in the Lewis Grabban situation, and their failed bid for Steven Naismith, and it has not been a good summer.
5/10
+20
Lewis Grabban's future is up in the air after he failed to force through a move to his old club Bournemouth
Who is their signing of the summer?
Robbie Brady, £7m, Hull
He has good Premier League experience and is a Republic of Ireland international - the best of a limited selection of signings.
Which signing has the most to prove?
Andre Wisdom, loan, Liverpool
He has come through the ranks with Liverpool and England but faces a third season out on loan. Aged 22, you sense he needs to show fully what he can do.
Southampton (by Sam Cunningham)
How do you rate their transfer business this summer?
Disappointing for fans to see yet more key players leave, with Nathaniel Clyne going to Liverpool and Morgan Schneiderlin to Manchester United. Losing Toby Alderweireld to Tottenham, having spent a season on loan at Southampton, was also a blow. Should get credit for keeping Sadio Mane and Victor Wanyama amid interest from bigger clubs. Most of their signings — Cuco Martina, Jordy Clasie, Oriol Romeu, Cedric Soares and Juanmi — have plenty to prove.
5/10
+20
Southampton were furious when Toby Alderweireld (above) joined Tottenham instead of them
Who is their signing of the summer?
Virgil Van Dijk, £11.5m, Celtic
When Alderweireld opted to join Spurs instead of staying on the south coast, there was a gaping hole left in their defence. Ronald Koeman managed to fill it on the final day of the window by signing the Dutch centre back. If he is as cool and calm as people say, the signing will be significant to their season.
Which signing has the most to prove?
Jordy Clasie, £8m, Feyenoord
Pretty much all of their new signings must demonstrate they are able to step into a side now expecting Europa League qualification. Clasie has perhaps the most on shoulders, given the price tag.
Stoke (by Joe Ridge)
How do you rate their transfer business this summer?
Things could hardly have gone any better for Mark Hughes. Yes, they lost Asmir Begovic and Steven Nzonzi, but Hughes has brought in a whole host of top quality new signings, none better than former Bayern Munich winger Xherdan Shaqiri.
8/10
+20
Stoke shocked much of the football world with a £12m swoop for former Bayern Munich star Xherdan Shaqiri
Who is their signing of the summer?
Xherdan Shaqiri, £12m, Inter Milan
The Swiss winger was the most sought after youngster in Europe when Bayern Munich signed him three years ago. Could not hold down a regular place at Bayern and had an unhappy spell at Inter Milan but his his pace, power and star quality remain (and he's still only 23).
Which signing has the most to prove?
Take your pick. What Hughes has done so well is to convince players discarded by Europe's super clubs that their futures lie at Stoke. Along with Shaqiri, Ibrahim Afellay, Marco van Ginkel, Joselu and Philipp Wollscheid all fit into that category.
Sunderland (by Craig Hope)
How do you rate their transfer business this summer?
They have undoubtedly strengthened their attacking options with Jeremain Lens (£8m) and Fabio Borini (£7.75m). But elsewhere their recruitment has again looked a little scattergun and lacking in strategy with loan signings and players other clubs simply do not want. Younes Kaboul and Sebastian Coates, in particular, have started the season poorly.
5/10
+20
Fabio Borini, who spent a season on loan at the Stadium of Light, has joined Sunderland from Liverpool
Who is their signing of the summer?
Fabio Borini, £7.75m, Liverpool
He hasn't started a Premier League game since January, but the Italian should give the team and supporters a real boost given the success of his previous loan spell. A front three of Borini, Lens and Jermain Defoe looks exciting.
Which signing has the most to prove?
Younes Kaboul, £3m, Spurs
He had fallen out of favour at White Hart Lane and, on early-season evidence, it is easy to see why. He needs to rediscover his form, fitness and confidence to prove that he can still be a defensive force in the Premier League.
Swansea (by Riath Al-Samarrai)
How do you rate their transfer business this summer?
The mark is based purely on the coup of getting Andre Ayew on a Bosman free transfer. They have signed a handful of other players but none who, as yet, have served more than a squad role.
8/10
Who is their signing of the summer?
Andre Ayew, free, Marseille
A brilliant forward who has three goals in four games and the sort of touch that will create many more. They went big on his wages but what a superb reader of the game.
+20
Andre Ayew (right) has three goals in the opening four games of the season and looks a fine bit of business
Which signing has the most to prove?
Eder, £5m Braga
The forward cost decent money but has so far managed to get 12 minutes of Premier League football. With limited cover for Bafetimbi Gomis, he could shoulder a significant responsibility.
Tottenham (by Sami Mokbel)
How do you rate their transfer business this summer?
Mauricio Pochettino set out to land a proven Premier League goalscorer, his chairman Daniel Levy has left him without one after failing to land Saido Berahino. Could it come back to bite them on the behind?
5/10
Who is their signing of the summer?
Toby Alderweireld, £11.5m, Atletico Madrid
A proven Premier League defender. His versatility will prove a bonus. An astute signing from Pochettino.
Which signing has the most to prove?
Son Heung-min, £22m, Bayer Leverkusen
An unknown quantity to most of us but arrives from Germany with a glowing reputation. But £22m is a heavy price tag.
+20
Tottenham unveiled South Korean international forward Son Heung-min last weekend
Watford (by Sami Mokbel)
How do you rate their transfer business this summer?
The Hornets have gone for a quantity over quality approach to their transfer market. They've made 15 signings, but are all of them good enough to play in the Premier League?
6/10
Who is their signing of the summer?
Etienne Capoue, £6m, Tottenham
Will give the Hornets a real physical presence in central midfield. His career at Tottenham didn't quite take off, but he is a quality performer.
Which signing has the most to prove?
Obbi Oulare, £6m, Club Bruges
At £6m, the 19-year-old is somewhat of a gamble by Watford. At 6ft 5ins he looks to have the physical attributes to deal with the Premier League. The proof, of course, is in the pudding.
+20
Belgium Under 21 striker Obbi Oulare (right) joined Watford on deadline day from Club Bruges
West Brom (by Joe Ridge)
How do you rate their transfer business this summer?
Stood firm against Tottenham over Saido Berahino and strengthen the squad in every area. Berahino going on strike is the one black mark but all in all it's been a summer of progress.
7.5/10
Who is their signing of the summer?
Salomon Rondon, £12m, Zenit
Looks the real deal and has time on his side at just 25. At 6ft 3in he possesses the physical attributes Tony Pulis demands of his frontmen and his pace and technical ability will make up for Berahino's absence.
+20
Venezuela striker Salomon Rondon has made a strong start to his West Brom career
Which signing has the most to prove?
Jonny Evans, £6m, West Brom
There are several of examples of players' careers nose-diving once they leave the cradle of a massive club and the defender must now adapt to his new surroundings.
West Ham (by Sami Mokbel)
How do you rate their transfer business this summer?
It's been a busy first summer in charge for Slaven Bilic. He's made a raft of new signings. The squad certainly looks stronger than when he arrived.
7/10
Who is their signing of the summer?
Dimitri Payet, £10.7m, Marseille
Has looked a world-beater during the opening weeks of the season. An exciting attacking midfielder that will have Hammers fans drooling.
Which signing has the most to prove?
Victor Moses, loan, Chelsea
Promised so much as a youngster but still hasn't fulfilled his potential. It's time for the real Victor Moses to stand up.
+20
