Party communication director Fahmi Fadzil said today that the reports were not true as KLCC was not one of the locations selected for tomorrow's #KitaLawan rally in Kuala Lumpur.
He said PKR was mobilising its members to participate in the rally to demand for the release of its de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
The supporters have been instructed to gather at three locations before they move towards the Sogo shopping complex.
"There are no locations other than the three designated ones," he said.
There had been reports saying that activists were planning to march to KLCC tomorrow, where the wedding reception of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak's daughter Nooryana Najwa and her husband Daniyar Kessikbayev of Kazakhstan was expected to be held.
Fahmi also said PKR secretary-general Rafizi Ramli had issued a circular stating the party's support for the rally because the movement was in-line with the party's struggles against the implementation of the goods and services tax, the Sedition Act and police violence against the people.
He said it was ironic that Rafizi was now detained by the police over that particular circular.
"Peaceful assembly is a right that the people should enjoy. Therefore, PKR hopes that the rally tomorrow will proceed smoothly with the cooperation of all parties, including the Royal Malaysian Police," he said.
Rafizi was picked up by the police this afternoon at his service centre in Pandan, Kuala Lumpur, under the Sedition Act. – March 27, 2015.
