KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 11, 2014:
Malaysians poured out their congratulations through Twitter after Malaysia defeated Vietnam in a nail-biting AFF Suzuki Cup second leg semi-final match.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, who followed the match from Busan, South Korea, expressed his joy over the win via his official Twitter account @najibrazak.
Alhamdullilah dan syabas kpd Harimau Malaya. Menang dengan Gaya ! Saya amat bangga bersama semua Rakyat Malaysia.” (“Praise be to Allah, and congratulations to Harimau Malaya. You won with style! Malaysians and myself are proud of you.”)
Earlier on, in the first half of the match, Najib had said: “Saya di Busan, Korea, tapi hati dengan Harimau. Hebat!  Moga berjaya.” (“I am in Busan, Korea, but my heart is with the Tigers. Great! All the best!).”

Meanwhile, AirAsia founder and Group chief executive officer Tony Fernandes had tweeted earlier that should Malaysia win, the budget airline company would “guarantee” special flights for local supporters to witness the finals in Thailand.
“If we win I guarantee you @aireenomar will do special flights. We have time. But let’s win first. Go harimau” Tony had tweeted.
The team won 5-4 on aggregate in Vietnam, courtesy of goals from Norshahrul Idlan Talaha, Safiq Rahim, Shukor Adan, and an own goal by Vietnam, leading Malaysia to meet Thailand in the final.
Twitter user Zainul lauded Malaysia’s resilience in the first half past the same team which had defeated the Harimau Malaya 2-1 last week on home soil.
“You did a great job Harimau Malaya congratulation #AFFSuzukiCup  #HarimauMalaya.”
Ahmad Ridhuan cheekily noted through his tweet that aside from the team playing well, the commentary was better, too.
‘”With the positive scoreline the commentary by Abu Bakar Atan on @tv9malaysia is also getting better. Kamong Burn! #AFFSuzukiCup.”
User @izzuddin380 observed that Chelsea and Malaysia had both lost in their matches last week, only to go back on winning again this week.
chelsea kalah 2-1,msia pon kalah…chelsea menang, msia pon menang… (Chelsea lost 2-1, Malaysia also lost. Chelsea won, Malaysia also won).”
User @dahiyaaaaaaaaah warned that the acronym, “Harimau Malaya” was not given for no reason.

Aku rasa Harimau kita ni kena pijak selalu… sebab tiap2 kali kena pijak dia garang semacam #AFFSuzukiCup (I feel the tiger is always stepped on, because each time it is stepped on, it keeps getting angrier).”
Another user is set to pack his bags and fly off to Thailand to witness the first leg final match.
“Guess some people out there have already gathered their wolf pack to go to Bangkok for final #AFFSuzukiCup #acahacah #hangoverpart2,” Nazrin tweeted.
