Woman who married Isis militant charged with supporting terrorism The Malaysian Insider

A 25-year-old woman, Ummi Kalsom Bahak, was charged in the Sepang Sessions Court with providing support to terrorists and becoming a member of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria through marriage with one of the members.
Ummi Kalsom was charged under Section 130J (1)(a) and Section 511 of the Penal Code. She claimed trial to the charge.
Judge Aizatul Akmal Maharani set November 20 for mention.
Ummi Khalsom, an assistant credit controller, attempted to board an Istanbul-bound AirAsia flight at klia2 to marry one Aqif Huessin Rahaiza Aqif Huessin Rahaiza, an Isis member.
She allegedly committed the offence at the Immigration counter of klia2’s departure hall at 5.20am on October 5.
She also faced an alternative charge of trying to benefit Isis by taking the same flight to enter Syria to marry Aqif.
She was alleged to have committed the offence at the same place and time.
Ummi Kalsom, who was unrepresented, nodded to indicate that she understood the charge that was read to her by an interpreter.
Deputy public prosecutor Wan Shaharuddin Wan Ladin said the accused could not obtain bail as the procedure for detention was governed under the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012 (Sosma).
He also applied for the case to be transferred to the High Court. – October 31, 2014.
