Mat Kilau To Be shown in 200 cinemas in Indonesia
The Film Mat Kilau is now the highest grossing Malaysian film of all-time.
Kuala Lumpur: After successfully collecting nearly RM100 million, the film Mat Kilau: Kebangkitan Pahlawan (The Rise of A Warrior) will be screened in 200 cinemas in Indonesia from August 31.
Producer and Managing Director of Studio Kembara, Abdul Rahman Mt Dali when contacted said he hoped the film would be well received and received by the audience there.
"The plan to bring in and show this film there has been made since a month ago. After discussions, it has been agreed that the 31st of August will be shown in 200 cinemas there. God willing, on the 26th of August will be the premiere or gala night in Jakarta.
"My hope is that the message that I want to convey through this film will be well received. Just as it was received in our country, Singapore and Brunei, I hope it will be the same there.
"This film is not just entertainment but a useful message. For me this is important.
When asked if the gala screening will also include the main actor, Datuk Adi Putra, Abdul Rahman said, the actor is on the list.
"Now basically everyone will be present including the big names in the film. That's what I understand from the team. Only, things like this can change because we don't have a contract and can force them to to be present. The plan is that all the main actors will go including the director," he said.
Asked about the collection so far, Abdul Rahman said, it has reached RM94.4 million and is still being shown here.
