The Health Ministry announced 1,385 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, bringing the total number of infections nationwide to 57,770.
Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, the ministry’s disease control and prevention director general, Achmad Yurianto, added that 58 more people had died of the disease, bringing the death toll to 2,934.
The total number of recovered patients has also increased to 25,595.
The capital city recorded 217 new confirmed cases, bringing the total tally to 11,637. Meanwhile, East Java reported 185 new cases, Central Java 173, North Maluku 147 and South Sulawesi 130.
The virus has spread to all of the country's 34 provinces. (dfr/mfp)
