PETALING JAYA: Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson has send his love to Malaysia in an Instagram video after Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle emerged as the top movie in Malaysia and Malaysia's third highest grossing movie in its second week.

According to Sony Pictures Malaysia, Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle garnered RM48.29mil in Malaysia as of Jan 1.

"This is our second weekend opening Jumanji in Malaysia and we are already the third biggest movie of all time, which is incredible in our second week," said Johnson in an Instagram post on Tuesday.

"We are trending to be the biggest movie of all time in Malaysia. I thank you so much," he said.






"Performing in front of the people with that kind of electricity, I would never forget," said Johnson.

"Malaysia, you hold a very special place in my heart. I love you Malaysia, I thank you. Keep enjoying Jumanji," he said.

Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle was released in Malaysia on Dec 21 and stars Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Karen Gillan, Nick Jonas, and Bobby Cannavale.

The movie follows four teenagers who are sucked into a video game called Jumanji after they discover the game in their school's store room during detention.

Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle surged to second place in the international box office garnering US$50.35mil (RM202.5mil), closing in on Disney's Star Wars: The Last Jedi (US$52.66mil / RM211.7mil).
