Cops hunting man alleged to have sexually assaulted his toddler niece
SIBU: Police are on the hunt for a man who is believed to have sexually assaulted his three-year old niece.
Sibu OCPD, Asst Comm Zailanni Amit said on Tuesday that the 30-year labourer ran away after the underage girl screamed in pain when they were together.
The girl's family had moved in to stay with the suspect two years ago to take care of their aged maternal grandmother.
ACP Zailanni said at 8.15pm on Monday (Jan 1), the mother was alerted by the loud screams of her daughter.
“The girl told her mother that her private parts hurt. She did a check and found traces of blood,” ACP Zailanni said.
After lodging a police report, the woman brought the victim to the hospital for medical observation.
ACP Zailanni said the police are now looking for the suspect who is still at large.
