PETALING JAYA: Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar has successfully undergone an angioplasty procedure in Singapore.

According to a statement by Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Mohd Khaled Nordin, Sultan Ibrahim had been referred for treatment at the Gleneagles Medical Centre in Singapore on Thursday after he had complaint of chest pain while exercising.

“Tuanku is in stable and good condition now,” said Mohd Khaled on Friday, adding that Sultan Ibrahim had been advised by a team of specialist to get enough rest, and to avoid long-distance travelling.

He said the Johor Ruler was allowed to return to the state on Friday morning and was recuperating at the Pasir Pelangi Palace.

“The Johor government expresses its gratitude to the Sultan’s medical team for taking good care of the Sultan,” said Mohd Khaled.

He also called on the people of Johor and Malaysians to continue to pray for Sultan Ibrahim’s quick recovery.
