FORBES JUNE 2013 - KUALA LUMPUR 8TH MOST VISITED CITY IN THE WORLD!

The Global Destinations City Index just published by MasterCard  ranks Kuala Lumpur as the 8th most visited city in the world. For the first time an Asian City Bangkok took top spot in the Index with 15.98 million International visitor spending at least one night. London was a close second place with 15.96 million visitors and Paris taking 3rd place.

Bangkok overtook London last years top city by a narrow margin, the number of visitors rose 9.8 percent compared to the year before.

Bangkok Tops the List Most Visited CIty in the World

The International Index authors said that Kuala Lumpur the Malaysian capital is an important link between Asia and the Middle East. It expects 9.2 million visitors in 2013 making in No 3 of the top 10 Asia Pacific destination cities behind Bangkok and Singapore.

4 Asian cities made it to the top 10 list - Bangkok in No 1, Singapore in 4th place Hong Kong in 9th and Kuala Lumpur in 8th place.
