Illaiyaraaja Not Performing At Concert Tonight Despite Family and Organiser Assuring He Would The Last Few Days

Indian music maestro Ilaiyaraaja not performing at concert tonight

PETALING JAYA: Hours before he is due on stage, noted Indian music composer Ilaiyaraaja informed his fans he is not fit to travel, much less perform at his King of Kings concert.

The 70-year-old Ilaiyaraaja was hospitalised for a mild heart attack at Apollo Hospital in Chennai, India on Monday, putting doubt to the highly-anticipated concert at Merdeka Stadium scheduled to start at 8pm on Saturday.
But by about 3.30pm, the King of Kings Maestro Ilaiyaraaja live in Kuala Lumpur Facebook page posted a video of him conveying his apologies to fans for not being able to perform.

Concert organiser, My Event International, confirmed that doctors have advised the maestro from travelling to Malaysia. However, My Event urged fans to go for the concert which would go on with other artistes.

In the video, Ilaiyaraaja urged his fans not to demand for a refund but to attend the concert.

“Wherever you are, my music will never go away, I will never leave you too. But for the sake of the sponsors and organisers, I urge people to go for the concert. They’ve worked hard to organise it,” said Ilaiyaraaja.

Throughout his 40-year career, Ilaiyaraaja has composed over 4,500 songs with scores for over 950 Indian films in various languages.

The concert is billed as "the biggest Indian music concert in Asia outside India."

Over 15,000 tickets have been snapped up for the concert which will be attended by popular playback singers S.P. Bala, K.S. Chitra, Krish and Madhu Balakrishnan, actors Ramarajan, Poornima Jayaram and Ramki and acclaimed directors P. Vasu and Gautham Vasudev Menon.

MTV World Stage Live in Malaysia 2013

American singer and songwriter Robin Thicke and hip-hop group Far East Movement ignited the annual MTV World Stage concert at Sunway Lagoon Resort here yesterday.

The concert, which was in its fifth year, went on from 7pm to 11pm.
It also featured South Korean group Exo and Malaysian hip-hop artiste Joe Flizzow.
The concert is a global series telecast to more than 550 million households.
About 15,000 people attended this year.
Last year's concert, held at the same venue, was attended by a record 18,000 people.
Justin Bieber, Jay Park, Kara and Malaysia's Mizz Nina were the highlights last year.

Fiercely loyal K-pop fans were again out in full force at MTV World Stage Live in Malaysia. Following the 2012 edition’s successful double bill of Jay Park and KARA, the Malaysian leg of MTV’s global music series welcomed EXO (pictured above) – a 12-member Korean boy band dressed in matching boarding school uniforms – this year.

Joe Flizzow

Performing second after local hip-hop luminary Joe Flizzow (whose brief set brought us energetic renditions of ‘Untukmu’, ‘Havoc’ and ‘All Around the World’ as well as cameos from Altimet and Ila Damiaa), EXO had their largely tween girl fanbase singing along overzealously to ‘Wolf’, ‘History’, the One Direction-esque ‘365’ and ‘Growl’.

The rain had petered out by the time Far East Movement arrived onstage to rapturous applause, but plenty of visibly contented EXO devotees had already left Surf Beach before the first note of ‘Ain’t Coming Down’ was belted out. The lively Kev Nish and co paid no heed to the crowd’s dwindling numbers and went on to showcase dance hits ‘Like a G6’ and ‘Rocketeer’, which was inexplicably remixed with Alicia Keys’s ‘No One’.

Far East Movement

The rave-like party atmosphere that embodied the orange jumpsuit-clad Far East Movement’s slightly long-drawn set, which included Prohgress doing a round of crowd surfing, gave way to a protracted wait before headliner and final act Robin Thicke’s eagerly awaited appearance. Even when Thicke finally made his way to the stage, a ten-minute technical delay limited the sharply dressed Los Angeles soulman to a short a capella teaser of ‘Blurred Lines’.

Once the technical issues were sorted, an apologetic Thicke returned to showcase the tantalising melisma and silky smooth falsetto that have propelled him to superstardom this year. The lesser known ‘Take It Easy on Me’, ‘Feel Good’, ‘Shakin’ it 4 Daddy’ and ‘Give It 2 You’ merely served as precursors to ‘Blurred Lines’, 2013’s biggest radio anthem that predictably elicited wild cheers from the remaining revellers.

Robin Thicke

A twerking Miley Cyrus stole the headlines the last time Thicke graced an MTV-branded music show, but the 36-year-old was not to be denied this time around. No drama, no controversy – just Thicke and around 15,000 fans chanting ‘hey, hey, hey’ into the night.

PETALING JAYA:  MyWatch adviser S. Gobi Krishnan has claimed that a Gang 36 leader is also an MIC member and holds posts in the party.
Gobi also alleged in a statement that the named person was also a youth branch head and a member of the MIC youth executive council.
"It is indeed shocking that gangsters are holding high-ranking positions in the party, which explains why no action was taken against him, " Gobi said.

In his twitter Gobi accuses The youth leader said to be a gang 36 leader is seated at middle back row.

Gobi believed that the infiltration of gangsters into the party posed a national threat.
Nevertheless, he lauded the action taken by the Home Minister, Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, against gangsters and was needed now was clear and swift action to arrest and convict them.
On Friday, a list of local gang leaders' names was made public, and Gobi claimed an MIC youth leader was one of the names on the list.
MIC youth chief T. Mohan, however, denied any knowledge of the MIC leader’s involvement in gangsterism and questioned the legitimacy of the allegations.
T Mohan
"Why haven't the police caught him if he was involved in crime?" he questioned.
Mohan said that he was sceptical of the gang leaders' name list.
"I do not understand who endorsed the names. Why would the police release the names? Will that not cause the criminals to run and hide?" said Mohan.
He also questioned why were there no names of gang leaders from other communities in the list.
Mohan said a police report would be lodged against those who made the allegations and released the MIC leader's name to the public.
The branch youth leader has since threatened to take legal action as well.
In a related matter, Mohan lodged a police report against Gobi and two English news portals in Sentul for linking him to Gang 36.
In his Twitter page, Gobi alleged that Mohan's car, a Mercedes CLS had a number plate with '3060' on it, which he claimed was a known identity code of the gang.
Gobi also tagged Mohan in his tweets and urged the authorities to take action against him.
"I have been using the number plate since 1996. This does not mean that I'm part of the gang," said Mohan.
He added that the allegation was a blatant lie and politically-motivated.
"There have been many news articles painting me in a bad light lately. I believe it is because some people want my position," he said, adding that he would be lodging another report against Tamil dailies that have been printing such stories.
"We will be suing those who spread false news and we hope the police will conduct a thorough investigation into the matter," he said.
Mohan also challenged Gobi to provide proof of his involvement with the gang and for police to investigate if he was really involved with any gangs.

MTV VMAs (Video Music Awards) 2013 The Raunchiest Ever Thanks To Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus!

They weren't even up for any of the awards.
However, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and Miley Cyrus all took to the stage at the MTV VMAs 2013 on Sunday, giving some of their most raunchiest performances to date.

All three ladies - who are currently promoting new albums - chose skimpy outfits for their respective routines, with both Lady Gaga and Miley stripping down to their underwear, while Katy wore boxing shorts and a tight fitting crop top.

The first to disrobe was Lady Gaga with Applause, the call-out single from her new album ARTPOP and the outrageous star certainly set the bar sky high for her peers.

It was a much-anticipated performance following a string of pictures that the singer had posted on-line and teased her fans with.

Gaga made no less than five outfit changes with the high energy performance of the song - resulting in a shell bikini top and thong.

The awards started with a close-up of the singer in a nun's habit outfit, she then made a series of extremely quick outfit changes - which ended up with the star bearing her bottom.

Next up, One Direction took to the stage, typically making the female part of the crowd go wild as they presented the Best Pop Video Award to Selena Gomez.

Awkwardly, Selena was sitting next to Harry Styles' ex Taylor Swift, who looked almost panicked as the camera pointed to her while the band read out the nominees for the award.

But as Harry began to read out the list of nominees the camera pointed back to Taylor who appeared to be whispering something to her pal Selena.

It wasn't long before fans took to Twitter claiming to have seen Taylor whisper the words, 'Shut the f*** up' as her ex-boyfriend spoke on stage.
As the happy news was announced that Selena was going home with the gong, Taylor quickly changed her tune hugging her pal as she went up to collect the award.

'This is my first moonman!' beamed an excited Selena, as she graciously accepted the award.

Miley Cyrus then performed her song We Can't Stop with Robin Thicke with a group of backing dancers dressed as teddy bears.

'Make some noise!' the young star screamed as she grabbed her crotch and stuck her tongue out, in a out fit that appeared to be a furry swimsuit.

Watching the footage it looks like Taylor doesn't know whether to laugh, cry or close her eyes. We hear you TaylorMiley has hurt Taylor's eyes

The eyes went to the face, the body leaned forward and the nervous laughing began.
If you thought that was just your reaction to Miley Cyrus' latex VMA performance , think again. Footage has been released showing Harry Styles' ex Taylor Swift's reaction to the "foam finger" dance.
As Miley straddled her foam finger and thrust her behind into married man Robin Thicke's personal space during a performance of We Can't Stop/Blurred Lines, Taylor seems to be shocked.
After laughing and whispering with her pal and next door neighbour for the awards, Selena Gomez, country singer Taylor decides to grab a drink from a pal.
Side note: We reckon said pal was Taylor's designated "drink holder" for the evening - so the cameras didn't catch the blonde bombshell necking a cheeky vodka. NOT THAT SHE WOULD, or anything. We don't know.
As one point Taylor seems to cheer for Miley, before collapsing into a heap of giggles.
Not only did she reach new levels of twerk-ness (yes, it is a word) she managed to make Madonna look like a nun with her dance moves.
Check out her performance in a series of disturbing gifs we made earlier. Warning: Your eyes may pop out of your head.
First up is the foam finger (we're hoping she threw that away after), swiftyly followed by a twerk to end all twerk.

What do you think? Are you still breathing? We urge you not to order a Latex bikini for yourself or anyone you know.
Also, sticking your tongue out while dancing is starting to get over-rated.
Miley wore nude PVC hot pants and boob tube which was more revealing than anyone could have ever expected, to be quite honest.
Add to this a giant teddy bear and we've got ourselves one of the most risky performances of the night.
