Kenyataan Akhbar KPK 2 Mei 2020 -Situasi Semasa Jangkitan Penyakit Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) di Malaysia
STATUS TERKINI KES DISAHKAN COVID-19 YANG TELAH PULIH
Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia (KKM) ingin memaklumkan bahawa terdapat 116 kes yang telah pulih dan dibenarkan discaj pada hari ini. Ini menjadikan jumlah kumulatif kes yang telah pulih sepenuhnya dari COVID-19 dan telah discaj daripada wad adalah sebanyak 4,326 kes (70 peratus daripada jumlah keseluruhan kes).
STATUS TERKINI KES COVID-19 DI MALAYSIA
Sehingga 2 Mei 2020 pukul 12:00 tengah hari, terdapat 105 kes baharu yang telah dilaporkan. Ini menjadikan jumlah kes positif COVID-19 di Malaysia adalah sebanyak 6,176 kes. Oleh itu, jumlah kes aktif dengan kebolehjangkitan COVID-19 adalah 1,747 kes. Mereka telah diasingkan dan diberi rawatan.
Ingin dimaklumkan bahawa daripada 105 kes baharu yang dilaporkan hari ini, 11 kes adalah kes import. Ini bermakna, kes penularan tempatan adalah sebanyak 94 kes, di mana 60 kes telah dikesan dari lokaliti di bawah Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan Diperketatkan (PKPD).
Sehingga kini, seramai 31 kes positif COVID-19 sedang dirawat di Unit Rawatan Rapi (ICU). Daripada jumlah tersebut, 12 kes memerlukan bantuan pernafasan.
Daripada maklumat terkini yang dilaporkan ke Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC) Kebangsaan, dimaklumkan bahawa tiada kes kematian berkaitan COVID-19 setakat ini. Justeru, jumlah kumulatif kes kematian COVID-19 di Malaysia kekal sebanyak 103 kes (1.67 peratus daripada jumlah keseluruhan kes).
ANALISA KEBERKESANAN PENDEKATAN TERTUMPU (TARGETED APPROACH)
Pelaksanaan Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan (PKP) telah membantu usaha Kerajaan dalam meratakan lengkung (flattening of the curve), di mana pencapaian ini adalah hasil kerjasama daripada pelbagai agensi dan orang ramai.
PKP telah membolehkan pelaksanaan aktiviti pendekatan tertumpu (targeted approach) untuk mengesan, menyaring, menguji, mengasingkan dan merawat kes-kes COVID-19 di kalangan masyarakat. Keberkesanan kaedah ini terbukti apabila kita lihat statistik daripada pelaksanaannya, iaitu seperti berikut:
- Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan Diperketatkan (PKPD) di 11 lokaliti yang berisiko tinggi di mana 607 kes positif COVID-19 dikesan daripada 29,067 kes yang telah disaring (iaitu 2.1 peratus);
- Pengesanan kluster perhimpunan di Seri Petaling di mana 2,220 kes positif COVID-19 dikesan daripada 34,503 kes yang telah disampel (iaitu 6.4 peratus);
- Pengesanan pelajar dan kakitangan madrasah serta tahfiz yang berkaitan dengan perhimpunan di Seri Petaling di mana sebanyak 378 kes positif COVID-19 dikesan daripada 8,030 kes yang telah disampel (iaitu 4.7 peratus);
- Penyaringan serta penempatan di pusat kuarantin bagi semua rakyat Malaysia yang pulang dari luar negara sejak 3 April 2020, di mana 274 kes positif COVID-19 telah dikesan daripada 26,169 orang yang telah dikuarantin (iaitu 1.05 peratus).
Tren kes-kes positif COVID-19 harian sejak kebelakangan ini menunjukkan peningkatan kes-kes import dan kes-kes yang dikesan dari lokaliti PKPD. Namun, masyarakat tidak perlu khuatir mengenai peningkatan kes di kalangan kes-kes import ataupun PKPD ini, kerana mereka telahpun awal-awal lagi diasingkan untuk disaring.
Aktiviti penularan COVID-19 di kalangan masyarakat setempat pula dapat dikenalpasti melalui aktiviti survelan klinikal (clinical surveillance) jangkitan COVID-19 yang telah lama dijalankan. Ini dilaksanakan dengan persampelan pesakit Influenza Like Illness (ILI) dari lokasi sentinel seluruh negara dan pesakit Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI) di semua hospital KKM.
Sehingga 1 Mei 2020, sebanyak 7,880 saringan COVID-19 dalam aktiviti survelan klinikal telah dijalankan di mana hanya 12 kes dikesan daripada ILI (0.81 peratus) dan 54 kes dikesan daripada SARI (0.84 peratus).
Selain itu, saringan COVID-19 juga dilaksanakan ke atas semua pesakit sebelum pembedahan kecemasan dan separa kecemasan di hospital KKM sebagai langkah pencegahan penularan COVID-19 di kalangan petugas kesihatan. Sehingga 1 Mei 2020, terdapat hanya lima (5) kes yang dikesan positif COVID-19 daripada 5,435 jumlah pesakit yang disaring (iaitu hanya 0.09%).
Justeru, adalah terbukti aktiviti pendekatan tertumpu yang dijalankan setakat ini telah berkesan dalam mengesan dan membendung penularan wabak COVID-19 di negara ini. Namun, ianya memerlukan tindakan selari rakyat untuk patuh kepada semua arahan dan nasihat kesihatan Kerajaan.
KAPASITI HOSPITAL COVID-19 HASIL LENGKUNG YANG TELAH DIRATAKAN
Susulan lengkung yang telah diratakan, hospital KKM kini mempunyai lebih banyak kapasiti dalam merawat lebih ramai pesakit COVID-19, sekiranya ianya diperlukan.
Misalnya, kadar keseluruhan bagi penggunaan katil di 40 buah hospital yang dikhususkan bagi perawatan COVID-19 dan 26 pusat rawatan COVID-19 berisiko rendah (hospital extension centres) adalah 17 peratus.
Selain itu, kadar penggunaan bagi katil Unit Rawatan Rapi (ICU) yang dikhususkan untuk pesakit disyaki dan disahkan positif COVID-19 adalah tujuh (7) peratus (iaitu 31 buah daripada jumlah 422 buah). Penggunaan alat bantuan pernafasan (ventilator) pula adalah hanya satu (1) peratus (iaitu 12 buah daripada jumlah 1,059 buah).
NASIHAT KESIHATAN BERKAITAN COVID-19
Pihak KKM ingin mengingatkan rakyat Malaysia bahawa pandemik COVID-19 ini belum berakhir. Secara global, sebanyak 187 buah negara telah terkesan dengan jumlah kes positif COVID-19 yang kini mencecah 3,343,777 dengan 238,650 kematian. Risiko penularan secara mendadak di Negara kita masih wujud sekiranya kita lalai dan alpa dalam mengamalkan norma baharu kehidupan seharian seperti:
- Mengamalkan langkah-langkah kesihatan seperti amalan jarak sosial selamat (social distancing) sekurang-kurangnya 1 meter dari orang lain;
- Digalakkan penggunaan alat penutup hidung dan mulut (face mask), terutama di kawasan umum;
- Menggalakkan amalan kebersihan yang tinggi seperti kerap mencuci tangan dengan air dan sabun atau penggunaan hand sanitizer;
- Mengamalkan amalan-amalan pencegahan jangkitan;
- Mengelakkan sebarang bentuk perhimpunan.
Justeru, kerjasama dan komitmen semua lapisan masyarakat dalam memainkan peranan masing-masing adalah sangat penting untuk memastikan kita berjaya menewaskan virus COVID-19.

UPDATES ON THE CORONAVIRUS DISEASE 2019 (COVID-19)
SITUATION IN MALAYSIA
Current Status of Confirmed COVID-19 Cases Who Have Recovered
2 May 2020 – The Ministry of Health (MOH) would like to inform that 116 cases have fully recovered and discharged well today. Cumulatively, 4,326 confirmed COVID-19 cases have fully recovered (70% of total cumulative cases).
Current Situation of COVID-19 in Malaysia
2 May 2020, 12 pm – A total of 105 additional confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported to the National Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC) MOH today. Cumulatively there are now 6,176 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Malaysia. Therefore, there are currently 1,747 active and infective COVID-19 cases. They have been isolated and provided treatment.
Of these 105 additional cases reported today, 11 are imported cases. The remaining 94 cases are due to local transmission, of which 60 cases were detected in Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) localities.
Currently, 31 confirmed COVID-19 cases are receiving treatment in intensive care units (ICU), and of these, 12 cases are on ventilation support.
Fortunately, no additional COVID-19 death was reported to the National CPRC MOH today. Cumulatively, there are still 103 COVID-19 deaths in Malaysia (1.67% of total cumulative cases):
Analysis of the Targeted Approach
Implementation of the Movement Control Order (MCO) has assisted the Government in flattening the curve of the infection, that is also the result of the cooperation of various agencies and the public.
The MCO has enabled the implementation of the targeted approach to detect, screen, test, isolate and treat COVID-19 cases in the community. The effectiveness of this approach is evident when we look at statistics of the implementation i.e.:
- The Enhanced MCO (EMCO) in 11 high-risk localities, whereby 607 confirmed COVID-19 cases were detected from 29,067 individuals tested (2.1%)
- Detection of cases related to the Seri Petaling gathering cluster, whereby 2,220 confirmed COVID-19 cases were detected from 34,503 individuals tested (6.4%)
- Detection of cases amongst students and staff of the madrasah (religious schools) associated with the Seri Petaling gathering, whereby 378 confirmed COVID-19 cases were detected from 8,030 individuals tested (4.7%)
- Screening and placement in quarantine centres for all Malaysians returning from overseas since 3 April 2020, whereby 274 confirmed COVID-19 cases were detected from 26,169 quarantined individuals (1.05%).
The recent trend of confirmed COVID-19 cases reported daily has shown an increase in imported cases and cases detected from EMCO localities. However, the public does not have to worry of increasing cases amongst imported or EMCO localities because these cases are isolated early for screening.
Local transmission of COVID-19 can be detected through the long-standing COVID-19 infection clinical surveillance. This is done through sampling of Influenza Like Illness (ILI) patients from sentinel locations nationwide and Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI) patients in all MOH hospitals.
As of 1 May 2020, a total of 7,880 COVID-19 tests have been done under the clinical surveillance, whereby only 12 positive cases were detected from ILI (0.81%) and 54 cases from SARI (0.84%).
In addition, COVID-19 tests were also done on all patients before emergency and semi-emergency surgery at MOH hospitals as a precautionary measure to prevent COVID-19 transmission among healthcare workers. As of 1 May 2020, there were only five (5) confirmed COVID-19 cases from 5,435 patients tested (only 0.09%).
Therefore, it is evident that the targeted approach implemented thus far has been effective in detecting and preventing the transmission of the COVID-19 infection in the country. However, this still requires the public to comply to all instructions and advisories issued by the Government.
The Capacity of COVID-19 Hospitals Resulting from the Flattening of the Curve
Following the flattening of the curve of the infection, MOH hospitals now have excess capacity to treat more COVID-19 patients if required.
For example, the overall bed occupation rate in the 40 COVID-19 hospitals and 26 low-risk COVID-19 centres (hospital extension centres) is 17%.
In addition, the occupation rate for ICU beds for patients with suspected and confirmed COVID-19 is 7% (31 out of 422 beds). The use of ventilators is currently at 1% (12 out of 1,059 ventilators).
Health Advisory on COVID-19
MOH would like to remind all Malaysians that the COVID-19 pandemic is far from over. Globally, 187 countries are affected with 3,343,777 COVID-19 cases and 238,650 deaths. The risk of sudden increase in cases and transmission in our country is still very real if we become complacent and disregard the new norms of daily living, such as:
- Practice preventive measures such as safe social distancing of at least 1 metre away from others
- The use of facemasks is encouraged, especially in public and crowded areas
- Maintain a high-level of personal hygiene, such as regular hand washing with water and soap, or use hand sanitisers
- Practise infection prevention measures
- Avoid any forms of public gatherings
Therefore, the cooperation and commitment of all levels of the community in playing their part is crucial to ensuring that we can successfully defeat the COVID-19 infection.
