Police have started investigations to identify individuals involved in the rally at Universiti Malaya (UM) last Monday.
Brickfields police chief Muhammad Azlee Abdullah said they had begun investigations by scrutinising recordings of closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras placed in several areas in the campus.
"We have also scrutinised pictures of participants uploaded on social media as well as those published in newspapers," said Muhammad Azlee, as reported in Berita Harian .
"After identifying those involved, we will make an announcement and we will also contact those we have identified to assist with the investigations."
UM media and corporate unit head Izzad Zalman Abd Kader said that the university is still identifying students who were involved in the gathering.
The students may be investigated under the Universities and University Colleges (Amendment) Act 2012 and the Universiti Malaya (Discipline of Student) Rules 1999, said Izzad.
UM on Tuesday lodged a report on the alleged trespass into the campus during the rally.
Students and supporters, on Monday night, had stormed the university gate and broke the lock, before marching to the Dewan Tunku Canselor for the student union-organised talk.
Opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim's talk, said to be a 'farewell speech' titled 'From UM to the prison', attracted 2,000 students and supporters, despite the university's attempt to block it through various means, saying it was illegal.
