2015 Ramadan Buka Puasa Review of Mosaic @ Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur.

The Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Kuala Lumpur prepared a Ramadan "Buka Puasa" Spread that is truly of International 5 Star quality. If you are looking to host a "buka puasa" evening in a posh ambiance this is the place to be at.

A sumptious spread of Local and International gastronomic delights give diners a wide choice to choose from. A Muslim coming from any part of the world will surely find something to his taste here.

The soft tunes from a piece Gamelan Band welcome guest as they come into the hotel main lobby area leading to the restaurant and lounge area where the buffet is spread out.

The Appetiser counter has almost everything you would ever want from great tasting cold cuts, cheese to salads.

You cannot have a buka puasa spread without "Bubur Lambuk" and for those who like it spicy they even  had "Soup Ekor" (Ox Tail Soup)

The Live Cooking Section at the Western Section remains to be the crowd favourite every year with great tasting beef, lamb and chicken cooked to your taste and liking right there and then. They had great tasting seafood pies and loads of various kind of sausages. The beef stew was also quite delicious.

During our review my favourites section was the Indian Section. The food was well marinated and cooked to perfection The curries were not floating in oil and the colours of the food itself made my mouth water. The tandoori section was a big hit and overall everything on that counter was simply delicious.

The Lamb Beriyani was super delicious.

The Malay Section had all the buka puasa favourites such as Lemang, Beef Rendang, Chicken Curry, Satay and the biggest King Prawns i have seen in a long time.. The prawns were huge, well marinated and delicious. The beef rendang was succulent without much fat. The Satay was cooked to perfection and not too dry like some other place. You could also get freshly made roti canai here.

The Japanese Seafood section had the freshest Salmon and Tuna sashimi,  Oysters, Crabs and whole lot of other usual favourites.

Diners can find almost any drink they want at the Cold and Hot drinks section as part of the buffet. I had my favourite air bandung and nescafe to finish it all off! You can find a range of seasonal fruits here too at this section.

The Desert section is extensive with local and International favourites. The different flavoured cakes and deserts were to die for. Local deserts and malay "kuih" were also available here.

The usual Chocolate and Macaroon's counter located in the lounge area is also part of the buffet. ( Each items usually goes for RM5 and above at this section during the non Ramadan month). The White and Dark Chocolate fountains border this counter. .... I won't be surprised if many diners start doing their own "take-aways" from this counter as the chocolates were so heavenly.

Diners can indulge in local fruits such as Durians, Rambutans and Mangosteens at the Lounge On The Park outdoor terrace section overlooking the serene KLCC Park. You can get freshly squeezed sugar cane juice and even fresh coconut water here.

If you are lucky you might even get the F&B Director Michael to cut open The King of Fruits - durian for you, where else can you see a "Mat Salleh German" (Caucasian) cutting open a durian

With the great tasting buffet you can expect Excellent Service as most of the staff here are  very attentive to the guest needs. If you need to make reservations and have special requirements to make your buka puasa evening memorable than the man to see is Mr Arul The Assistant F&B Director, He is the one that takes care of all the needs of  the VVIPS and Royalties that frequent the Mandarin Oriental Hotel.

Overall you are assured of  A Five Star "Buka Puasa" experience at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Kuala Lumpur.
