Three Teenagers Connected To Restaurant Owner Shooting Arrested

GEORGE TOWN: Police have detained three teenagers in connection with the shooting of a restaurant owner in Simpang Ampat, Nibong Tebal on Wednesday.

Penang police chief Datuk Abdul Rahim Hanafi said checks showed the boys, all school dropouts, had sold the motorcycle which was used by two men as their getaway machine after one them fired four shots at the 43-year-old victim.

"We picked up the suspects in Nibong Tebal a few hours after the shooting.
"We believe they were involved in motorcycle theft and could have sold a stolen machine to the two men," he said.
In the 4:15pm shooting, the victim was shot at by two men on a motorcycle along Jalan Kendi at the Taman Merak Business Centre.

The man was about to alight from his car when a pilion rider came next to his car and shot four times at the man, with one bullet hit him in the chest.

The assailants, believed to be hired killers, then sped off but abandoned their machine about 5 km away after it broke down.
They were then picked up in a car by their friends.
