KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 17 major routes in the Klang Valley and Putrajaya will be temporarily closed or diverted from April 15 to 17 in conjunction with Chinese President Xi Jinping's official visit to Malaysia.
The Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) said in a statement on Sunday that the full road closure and diversion would be carried out for 30 to 45 minutes to make way for the movement of the national delegation.
Among the routes affected include the Elite Expressway, MEX, SUKE, NPE, KSAS, Smart Tunnel as well as several major roads in Putrajaya such as Persiaran Selatan and Lebuh Gemilang. Major roads around Kuala Lumpur city centre are also involved.
On April 15, the closure will start as early as 6 pm involving the route from Lebuh KLIA to Jalan P5 Putrajaya.
Meanwhile, on April 16, the closure is scheduled at three times, namely 9.30am, 12.30pm and 4.10pm.
On April 17, the last route will be closed from 8.50 am, involving movement from Putrajaya to KLIA.
The public is advised to plan their journey in advance and follow the instructions of the police on duty.
According to JSPT Director, Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri, a total of 378 officers and police personnel will be stationed to accompany the delegation, control traffic and ensure smooth running throughout the visit.
JSPT also calls on all road users to cooperate fully by complying with the current instructions, to ensure the safety and smooth running of this national visit.
