PETALING JAYA: Police today remanded the wife of the late Cradle Fund Sdn Bhd CEO, Nazrin Hassan, to facilitate investigations into her husband’s death.

According to Bernama, Samirah Muzaffar was remanded for seven days.

Polis also arrested Samirah’s ex-husband.

According to the national news agency, Samirah was arrested in Taman Tun Dr Ismail at 2.15am.

“She was arrested after a 43-year old man, who is Sarimah’s ex-husband, was picked up in Sepang at 1am,” Selangor CID chief Fadzil Ahmat was quoted by Bernama as saying.

This comes almost a month after authorities confirmed that Nazrin’s death had been classified as murder.

In June, it was reported that Nazrin had died in a fire at his residence in Petaling Jaya.

Cradle Fund confirmed that the post-mortem report concluded he had died of complications from injuries suffered when a mobile phone that was being charged exploded.

Cradle Fund is a company under the finance ministry, set up to develop technology entrepreneurs and ecosystem start-up companies in Malaysia.
