Special reception awaits remains when they come home

PUTRAJAYA: The remains of Malaysian MH17 victims will be accorded a special reception upon their arrival home.
Details are still being worked out and officials involved in its preparations said it would be “of a big scale” and likely military-styled.
“There are still a lot of issues not settled yet, such as the post-mortem on the bodies,” said one official.
“But one thing’s for sure – there will be a big special reception for the remains,” the official added.
At the Eindhoven airport in The Netherlands, the first batch of the remains of the 298 passengers and crew killed in last Thursday’s disaster were given a national reception.
The caskets were then off-loaded from Dutch and Australian military aircraft by honour guards as a single bugle played The Last Post.
A minute’s silence followed throughout The Netherlands, which had declared Wednesday a national day of mourning.
