KUALA LUMPUR: A man who went on a rampage using a sharp weapon was injured after being shot in the leg by a security guard.

It is understood that the incident occurred at a restaurant near Banting Hospital, here today.

In a 57-second video that went viral on social media, several individuals were seen using chairs to defend themselves from being attacked by the man involved.

The man is believed to have tried to attack one of the individuals before the security guard fired a shot at his leg.

Meanwhile, Kuala Langat District Police Chief, Superintendent Mohd Akmalrizal Radzi, when contacted, confirmed the incident.

He said a media statement would be issued.
