KUALA LUMPUR: A nearly two-and-a half-minute video purportedly showing a young woman being attacked by a ‘ghost’ in a hotel was recently uploaded onto a video-sharing site, shocking online users to new levels of fright and disbelief.
Speculation is rife among netizens over the video where a young woman was ‘horribly attacked’ by a ghost in which the incident was apparently captured by the surveillance camera.
The viral video kicks off showing a couch that moved and a door that slammed itself shut.
Shortly afterward, it changes to a different location where a young woman was playing on her mobile phone alone when she heard noises coming from behind her.
Reacting with surprise, the woman hastily snaps her head back to check out what it was but sees nothing.
Moments later, she was thrown around like a rag doll in what appeared to be a mysterious force before losing consciousness and collapsed on the floor.
According to Worldofbuzz.com, it is reported that the eerie video has been circulated in the US and several other countries.
The spooky episode is reportedly to have taken place at a hotel in Malaysia, but the exact location is unknown. The footage has since been uploaded to Youtube, gaining nearly 90,000 views so far.
Viewers had shared their opinions online after viewing the footage, with some asking whether it is a trailer for a new paranormal activity movie or an orchestrated ad campaign.
Others have tracked the source to the trailer of a little known Malaysian paranormal horror flick Bangunan, with the original sound and references to the movie, Express.co.uk reports.
So was it a real paranormal attack or merely a spoof by jokers? Well, you should know better.
