KUALA LUMPUR: Two videos featuring a man, believed to be a mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter, engaging in a scuffle with Nepalese security guards at a condo in USJ have gone viral on social media today.
In the videos, the man can be seen arguing with a scrawny guard who is said to have prevented him from entering the condominium because he did not have a security pass.
Following the argument, a bystander tried to calm the situation but the fighter suddenly unleashed a side-kick on the guard’s thigh.
However, the guard managed to grab hold of the fighter’s neck and wrestled him to the ground.
Several other guards then jumped in to help their colleague in subduing the aggresive man.
He tried to fight back but the security guards, including one who was armed with a baton, managed to overpower him before tying him up with a rope.
The videos, which went viral on Facebook hours after the incident, has garnered more than 1.8 million views, 16,000 shares and three thousand ‘likes’.
In one of the postings, a Facebook user Darriush Kha Lili came forward and said that he was the man in the videos.
However, he claimed that he has no intention of hurting anyone.
“Guys, it's a long story...it's me there, I didn't intend to hurt anyone, I could've fight back easily yea, I just threw few kicks to keep him away, then they just jumped me, I didn't even fought back, I'm not dumb.”
Darriush also posted that he did not want any trouble with the police and admitted that it was his mistake.
He also went on to rant against the person who had taken the video, using vulgarities and describing that they had ‘nothing better to do.’
Since the video made its round at about 5pm, many netizens praised the security guards for standing their grounds and not letting the man into the building without a pass.
Facebook user Poay Lim said the guards were just doing their job to keep the building safe.
“No matter how inconvenient it might be and how rude they become towards us, they keep our residence safe from other unwanted strangers.
“I don't think we should be hostile towards them and engage in any physical conflicts as they are still humans like us trying to make our residence a safer place.” he said.
Meanwhile, Subang Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Azlin Mohd Sadari confirmed receiving reports from both parties.
“Investigations are still ongoing,” he said
