Sticking to its motto " Love All Serve All" this American chain has become an icon of Kuala Lumpur. Even the legendary Michael Jackson visited the Hard Rock Cafe during his trip to Kuala Lumpur

I first went to the Hard Rock Cafe in 1994, during the first few years people used to line up just to get in and the queue was till the entrance of the Concorde Hotel. Thankfully I eventually made friends with the Manager and never had to line up again. I was so hooked to the place that I was at the Hard Rock almost every single night from 1994 to 2001. While the line to get in now isn't that long as it's used to be, it's still one of the hottest nightspots in Kuala Lumpur. In November 2008, the Hard Rock Cafe was refurbished costing almost RM3million.
It's quite hard to miss a vintage Harley Davidson nestled on the roof of the entrance of HRC KL. Keeping with the image of the Hard Rock Cafe chain you will be greeted with a large collections of rock n roll music memorabilia such as well-known singers costumes, portraits, autographed guitars framed memorabilia items from famous singers decorating it's walls.
You can explore some of the most greatest music memorabilia here, such a raw silk jacket worn by Jimi Hendrix, an autographed jumpsuit that Red Hot Chilli Peppers drummer Chad Smith, a bass guitar from Weezer’s Scott Shriner, a top worn by No Doubt pop superstar Gwen Stefani and a pair of leather pants by Motley Crue’s Mick Mars.
If you are looking for some great wholesome American food then you have to head to the Hard Rock Cafe. They have some of the best selection of burgers, steaks and ribs.
The have a great choice of Starters and most likely you will be spoilt for choice. if you want a sampler then the Jumbo Combo is highly recommended as it includes Spring Rolls, Chicken Wings, Potato Skins and Tupelo Chicked. Be warned the HRC Nachos comes in a huge portion.
The absolute must try and personal favourite of mine is the Grilled Chicken Quesadilla.
They have some great Entrees too such as the Twisted Mac and Cheese, Fish and Chips, New York Strip Steak, Black Pepper Steak and my personal favourite the Grilled Salmon
The chicken or beef fajitas are also really good if you looking for something light but meaty
The selection from their smokehouse is simply mouth watering with their Hickory Smoked Pulled Lamb or Chicken and Smoked Beef Brisket
The Burgers here are awesome too, the Hickory Barbecue Bacon Cheeseburger, Mushroom & Swiss Burger and the Classic Hard Rock Burger is a must try. They have a good selection of sandwiches too,
For those on a diet and insist on eating healthy they have a wide variety of salads that is simply delicious. The Cobb Salad and Caesar Salad with Chicken or Beef or Salmon is a crowd favourite. The Grilled Chicken Chop Salad and Smokehouse Chop Salad is also a must try.
The Hard Rock Cafe Kuala Lumpur also serves some of the best tasting Malaysian fare. You will find one the best "nasi goreng" served here. Its simply awesome. The Seafood Char Kway Teow and Satay are also my personal favourites.
Whatever you choose to eat make sure you save some space for dessert, as they are to die for. The hot fudge Brownie, apple cobbler, cheese cake and mud pie here are legendary.
After finishing your meal head to the Rock Shop to pick up your Hard Rock Cafe Kuala Lumpur Souvenirs. They have a huge variety of T-Shirts, Caps, Pins, Lighters, Glasses, Scarves and Jewellery Items. With the Kuala Lumpur logo on them, it makes them a great souvenir item of your stay in Kuala Lumpur.
The Hard Rock Cafe Kuala Lumpur usually have some of the best bands performing there nightly. They have brought in some of the top bands from Indonesia and Philippines to perform. Top local bands, such as NRG and Skyhigh have also performed there.
It's no surprise that the Hard Rock Cafe is also a preferred venue for mini concerts and album launches of local Malaysian artist. Their resident Dj Tony is simply awesome, as such you are assured of a good time.
It's hard to get on top and its even harder to stay on top for almost 25 years. The management of the Hard Rock Cafe must get a huge pat on the back. The media shy but no nonsense General Manager and Area Director of Hard Rock Cafe Mr. Michael Leow, prefers to work behind the scenes to ensure that Hard Rock Cafe maintains it's brand standard and delivers what it promises to customers.
Whatever it is, if you are visiting Kuala Lumpur, a visit to the Hard Rock Cafe is almost a must even for just a souvenir of Kuala Lumpur!.
