ANKARA: About 150 Chelsea and Manchester City supporters who were previously subject to the Football Ban Order will not be allowed to attend the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the United States from June 15 to July 13, 2025, Anadolu Ajansi (AA) reported citing British media reports.
According to the new law that came into effect on Wednesday, any supporters involved will have to surrender their travel documents including passports, or face up to six months in jail or an unlimited fine.
This year's Club World Cup will see a new format change that was first introduced by FIFA, with 32 clubs competing. The teams will be divided into eight groups of four teams and will only play one match in the group stage.
The top two teams in each group will advance to the next round using a knockout format.
The champion will take home a cash prize of US$125 million, while the total prize money to be distributed to the 32 competing teams reaches US$1 billion.
