Selangor’s mobile parking app now covers KL

you can now use the smart selangor Parking app to pay for parking in Kuala lumpur.
MOTORISTS in Kuala Lumpur can now make parking payments via the Smart Selangor Parking (SSP) mobile app, which allows motorists to pay for street parking via their smartphones.
The integrated parking system is already being used by seven local councils in Selangor since it was introduced in July 1 last year.
“Now, Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) is on board and is already integrated in this smart parking app, making it more convenient for users,” said state local government, public transport and new village development committee chairman Ng Sze Han.
He was speaking with reporters after awarding all 12 local councils five stars in accordance with the Federal Government’s Local Government Star Rating System.
“For a start, we are working with a few private operators in Petaling Jaya, and four of the parking lots are now integrated with the app.
“Users will only need to scan a QR code with their mobile app before entering the parking lot to make payment,” he said.
Currently, the SSP app can be used at Paramount and Asia Jaya LRT, Kelana Jaya stadium and Atria hawker stalls parking lots.
In a bid to encourage more motorists to use the app, there is a one-month promotion starting now until Aug 9.
For every top-up of RM50 up to RM99 in the app, users will receive an additional RM1 credit, RM3 credit for every RM100 to RM199 top-up, RM6 for every RM200 to RM299 top-up, RM9 for every RM300 to RM399 top-up, and RM12 for every RM400 to RM499 and above.
Ng added that the smart parking app was an alternative payment method for motorists in addition to the coin or coupon system which are still in use.
“We are now working to include more off-street parking areas in the app,” he added.
