KUALA LUMPUR: The March 27 anti-Najib gathering can go ahead despite no notice being submitted for the meet, but organisers have been warned not to "trouble anyone".
Deputy Home Minister Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed(pic) said there is no need for the authorities to stop the closed-door gathering but police will monitor it and step in if things get out of hand.
"It (the gathering) will trouble the people and the authorities. But if they want to have their demonstration in that location, go ahead but we ask them to be responsible.
"If they can promise they can do the demonstration without bothering others, then there's no need for us to stop it," Nur Jazlan said at the Parliament lobby.
He said police will also look out to see whether the gathering creates traffic congestion or descends into scuffles.
But he said, like the Bersih 4 rally, the authorities will work with the organisers to ensure that no untoward incident occurs.
The gathering, which is expected to be attended by a roster of high-powered politicians like Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, is to call for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak's resignation, who has been criticised over the RM2.6bil donation and the 1Malaysia Development Bhd issues.
