KL CityWalk Launched - a variety of over 30 food and service options complimented by art installations along the street, created by local artisans.

KUALA LUMPUR, August 8 – KL Citywalk (‘KLCW’), located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur’s renowned Golden Triangle, began a new era in history in the KL city centre with the Official Launch Ceremony being held on Wednesday on August 8, 2018.


Kl CityWalk (KLCW) was officially launched by En Ahmad Alsraf Ahmad Mokhtar, Director of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia, Wilayah Persekutuan; with representatives from the Ministry of Federal Territories; alongside the Managing Director of Desa Sejati Sdn. Bhd., Datuk Judy Ng.




KLCW, is a 416-metre pedestrian concept street was the brainchild of Datuk Judy's husband the late Ronnie Choong and his legacy was realised with an official launch ceremony attended by over 200 guests.


The Launch proceedings were underscored by both traditional and modern performances reflecting the various cultures of Malaysia, as well as a Walking Tour of the facilities conducted by Datuk Judy Ng.

To commemorate the occasion, Datuk Judy Ng introduced the ‘KLCW Dollar’ charity initiative, to benefit “Pusat Penjagaan Kanak-Kanak Cacat Taman Megah”

The Walk’s tagline “Connecting KL” is exemplified by the safe passage it provides pedestrians and daily commuters. Locals and tourists enjoy a variety of over 30 food and service options complimented by art installations along the street, created by local artisans.

Jenerator, it’s event space, has already begun hosting private events such as product launches, corporate events, and free community health and lifestyle workshops.

Concept – Garden in the City


KL Citywalk (KLCW), the country’s pioneer urban concept Walk is strategically located in the heart of the Kuala Lumpur, in the shade of the Petronas Twin Towers within KL’s famed Golden Triangle district.


KL City Walk is a 416m boulevard that, at almost half a kilometre in length, is a perfect pin on the map for tourists and local city dwellers, featuring a mix of cafes, localised cuisine, seasonal events & celebrations, and the necessary service outlets to service the surrounding community cultivated from the next-generation of notable Malaysian entrepreneurs.

KLCW is easily accessible from the air-conditioned pedestrian skybridge that connects Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) to Pavilion KL in Bukit Bintang- thus forming an ‘arterial link’ between these iconic hotspots.


The pedestrian bridge also interconnects with the more convenient public transportation options such as the Monorail line (at Jalan Raja Chulan) and the LRT network running beneath the Petronas Twin Towers – the ideal KL link.

KL Citywalk’s varied communal zones of the Walk:-


The Boardwalk, a 200M stretch featuring cafes with terraced seating and refreshing art installations scattered throughout;


Jenerator, an elevated 8000sqft, modern events space capable of seating 200 people for a variety of event types; and


Eat Street, a one-of-its-kind urban food court showcasing a diverse collection of food & drinks, served out of repurposed shipping containers.


The Walk aims to be in the top ten most visited destinations in Kuala Lumpur within the next three years.


KL Citywalk is a street made ‘by Malaysians for Malaysians’ as it is made up of young local entrepreneurs and small local business owners appeal to both locals and tourists serving everything from breakfast to post-dinner drinks.


KL Citywalk aims to bring together communities in Kuala Lumpur for a good cause and hopes to collaborate with varies communities or government bodies to provide a “Garden in the City” for local patrons and tourist to enhance the look and feel of Kuala Lumpur.

KLCW GRAND LAUNCH WEEKEND- KL Citywalk will celebrate it’s grand opening with a Grand Launch Carnival on August 10th and 11th, 2018.


  • Malaysian Book of Records attempt for Longest Nonstop Outdoor Online Radio Broadcast (72hours), Hosted by KLCW’s Official Radio Partner, aforadio. A 72-hour continuous broadcast featuring a mix of live interviews with celebrities, live talk shows with special guests, & live on-air deejays [8AM, 8/8/18 – 8AM, 11/8/18].

  • Street entertainment all weekend long, along KLCW’s boulevard: starring live bands and street performers including buskers, magicians, mimes & caricature artists [Day and Night, 8/8/18 – 11/8/18]


  • Comedy in KL City… Walk!: LOL Events presents 2 hours of live comedy, headlined by Papi Zak and Phoon Chi Ho, with special guest appearances by international comedians [8PM, 11/8/18]
