ERRANT motorists with outstanding Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) traffic summonses have been given a month to settle fines issued before Sept 1, 2018 or face being blacklisted by the Road Transport Department (JPJ).

To make the deal sweeter, DBKL is offering steep discounts to motorists with a flat rate of RM20 for motorcycle offenses, RM30 for car, MPV, van, lorry, 4WD and SUV, as well as RM50 for heavy vehicles such as bus, tractor, large lorry, crane and trailer.

DBKL Corporate Planning Department director Khairul Azmir Ahmad said the discount was only applicable for wrongful parking offences at metered parking spots, and for summonses issued by DBKL.

“Motorists are given a month, between Sept 1 and 30, to settle their outstanding traffic offences, and there will be no extension given, following of which, they will be blacklisted by the JPJ,” he said in a statement.
He added that offences that were already blacklisted or were currently on-going in court or where an arrest warrant had been issued were not applicable for the special discount.

Motorists can settle their fines via DBKL payment counters, Pos Malaysia branches nationwide, DBKL payment kiosks, www.myeg.com and the DBKL Mobis app that can be downloaded from the Google Playstore or Apple App Store.
