PETALING JAYA: The Government’s Team of Eminent Persons has formed a five-member Institutional Reforms Committee (IRC) to help bring about “positive change” to the country.

The Committee will report to the Team of Eminent Persons, the latter said in a statement Tuesday.

The Committee comprises retired Court of Appeal judge Datuk K.C. Vohrah; retired Court of Appeal judge and former Suhakam commissioner Datuk Mah Weng Kwai; National Patriots Association president Brig Jen (Rtd) Datuk Mohamed Arshad Raji; Tunku Abdul Rahman Professor of Law at Universiti Malaya Datuk Dr Shad Saleem Faruqi; and Hakam president Datuk Ambiga Sreenevasan.

The Team of Eminent Persons said that while the IRC was set up to advise the Government on economic and financial matters, economic reform on its own cannot bring desired change unless accompanied by institutional reforms.

“The Institutional Reforms Committee will present its findings and recommendations to the Team of Eminent Persons.

“The Team of Eminent Persons will then present its report to the Prime Minister,” the statement said.
