KUALA LUMPUR: A Dutch model who fell to her death from the 20th floor of a condominium in Dang Wangi last week had attended a drug-fuelled swingers party, a few hours before her body was found, according to foreign media reports.

Ivana Esther Robert Smit, 19, who was at the home of an American man and his Indonesian wife, was allegedly partying with the couple before she plunged to her death.

Her naked body was found on a 6th floor balcony about 10am.

Smit, who had dual Dutch and Belgian citizenship, was the second runner-up in the Malaysia Supermodel Search 2014, when she was 15-years-old.

Smit’s family suspect foul play and claim there were bruises on the girl’s neck, which looked like marks of a hand.

According to British media, Smit’s father, Marcel, had told reporters that he had heard rumours that the wealthy couple with whom his daughter was partying with were actually swingers who frequently brought young models home.

“The wife, believed to be in her 30s, reportedly a model, had befriended Smit.

“Smit returned to the couple's apartment at 5am and she sent her boyfriend, Lucas Kramer, a selfie with the woman at 7.25am.

“Neighbours are also said to have reported hearing an argument at the condominium unit,” reported the British press.

Previously, police told the New Straits Times that traces of drugs were found in Smit’s system.

Both husband and wife also tested positive for drugs and were charged on Monday with drug abuse.

Dang Wangi police chief Assistant Commissioner Shaharuddin Abdullah had said that the American man had claimed he was sleeping when the incident occurred. His wife, he said, had taken their child to school.

Shaharuddin said although police had classified the case as sudden death, they would reclassify the case if criminal elements were involved.

He also called those with information on the case to step forward to help in police investigation. © New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd
