BENTONG: Anih Berhad, the KL-Karak Highway concession holder, has denied that a bus had crashed on its highway.

The company said a video that went viral since yesterday was an old footage of an accident that happened along the Plus Highway stretch near Pedas-Linggi, Negri Sembilan on Oct 10, 2010.

Urging all parties to stop sharing the video, the company said motorists should check its official Facebook page - Facebook LPT, and Twitter handle - @LPTTrafik for the latest traffic updates.

"Motorist are advised to stop sharing and ignore the viral messages. Follow our official Twitter and Facebook page for the latest traffic updates," it said.

Meanwhile, a Bentong police spokesman also refuted the viral video. He confirmed that there was no such accident as depicted in the viral video along the stretch.

He said the police station had been receiving calls from the public since morning asking about the "accident".

"Since it is a festive break, motorists are planning using the stretch to return to their hometown. Apparently, some individuals have taken this opportunity to spread the false news.

"As of now, there's no report of such accident along the stretch," he said. © New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd
