Hamid Apdal, the younger brother of Parti Warisan Sabah president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal, has had his remand period extended for another five days.

KOTA KINABALU: Hamid Apdal, the younger brother of Parti Warisan Sabah president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal, has had his remand period extended for another five days.
Hamid, whose remand order was up yesterday, was brought before magistrate Afieq Agose, who granted the extension.
His daughters and other relatives were allowed to see him for about 10 minutes before he was taken away.
Hamid was later taken to the hospital for observation as he was said to be suffering from a viral infection.
The 37-year-old businessman was detained on Saturday by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to assist in a corruption probe.

Both Hamid and Manzur Hussein are being investigated for allegedly skimming RM1.5bil worth of funds from federal projects for the poor in Sabah through the Rural and Regional Development Ministry.
The MACC is expected to make more arrests as it sifts through some 350 projects given out to some 70 companies between 2009 and 2015.
So far, eight people have been picked up and some RM170mil in bank accounts and assets frozen as part of the ongoing statewide probe.
In a related development, Ber-nama reported that another Datuk has been summoned by the MACC over the case.
Sources said the businessman was said to have at least seven companies under his control, including his own, which obtained contracts from the ministry.
In addition, the Datuk also borrowed licences from his colleagues by paying involvement fees of RM30,000 for every licence, to meet the limited tender qualifying conditions.
