King wins DDD 2 registration plate number with bid of RM385,000

KOTA BARU: The Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Muhammad V has won the highest bid for the new DDD 2 registration number.
Kelantan Road Transport Department (RTD) director Mahassan Mustapha said the King made the winning bid of RM385,000.
He said Sultan Muhammad V also won several other interesting DDD registration numbers.
Several others `VVIPs' have also won other interesting DDD registration numbers.
Mahassan said the most popular number was DDD 1000, which had 144 individuals bidding for it.
"However, the DDD 1000 registration number was won by an individual who paid RM50,000 for it," said Mahassan today.
He said the state RTD has created the history with this series of registration number plates with more than 7,000 bids for the DDD number plates.
"Compared to the previous series of registration number plates fro the state, DDD has received an overwhelming response from the public.
"In the previous series, Kelantan RTD only recorded between 700 and 800 bids from individuals but this time, the figure has increased more than 10 times," he said.
Mahassan believed the DDD registration number had attracted buyers due to the same three letters of the same number.
