Malaysia bag first gold with chinlone linking win

KUALA LUMPUR: The Jalur Gemilang was raised for the first time at the 29th edition of the SEA Games as Malaysia claimed gold in the men's chinlone linking competition.
Malaysia scored 391 points to beat Philippines, which managed just 271 points, in the final at the Titiwangsa Indoor Stadium on Wednesday.
Chinlone is a traditional caneball sport originating from Myanmar.
The sport, which sees six players taking turns to perform juggling skills in a circle, made its debut in the SEA Games in Myanmar in 2013. Malaysia have never won gold in the event.
