PETALING JAYA: The heirs to two of Malaysia's largest corporations - Naza Group and Berjaya Group - have announced their wedding engagement after a long courtship.
SM Faliq SM Nasimuddin, 32, son of the late Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin SM Amin popped the question to Chryseis Tan, 29, daughter of Tan Sri Vincent Tan, while on a romantic holiday in Marrakesh on Friday.
SM Nasimuddin was founder of Naza Group of Companies which is involved in the automotive, manufacturing and property businesses. Vincent Tan is the Malaysian tycoon who built the Berjaya Group, a diversified conglomerate with businesses ranging from direct selling and retail to financial services and motor trading.
Chryseis announced her engagement to Faliq on her Instagram account the following day.
In the photo, Faliq got down on one knee while Chryseis held back tears of joy.
The proposal was captured in a romantic setting adorned with several bouquet of flowers and decorative candles. Behind them, a floral sign reads "Will you marry me?"
The post was soon flooded with congratulatory messages from fans and friends celebrating the happy occasion.
"This is a very touching moment! Congratulations! Wishing you both lovely couple lots of love and happiness!" said one fan with the handle ps_winter_ps.
Fans also expressed their surprise and asked for more photos of their engagement.
Tan's younger sister, Chrystal Tan commented that she will miss raiding her sister's closet.
"Thank you to every single one of you for the wishes," Chryseis posted on Instagram on Sunday with an accompanying photo of her displaying her engagement ring.
According to Chinese daily Nanyang Siang Pau, the couple met while studying at an international school.
Faliq, who is Naza TTDI Sdn Bhd deputy executive chairman and group managing director, is the last bachelor among three brothers to be married.
Chryseis, who is the eldest daughter among 11 siblings, is Instagram-famous for her jet-setting lifestyle.
She is the CEO of Berjaya Times Square, executive director of Berjaya Assets Berhad and an investor in several brands including Greyhound Cafe and health concept La Juiceria.

None other than, Faliq Nasimuddin, the son of the late billionaire Tan Sri Nasimuddin Amin. Tan Sri Nasimuddin Amin founded the Naza Group, a conglomerate involved in many types of business ranging from motoring to education, to food and beverage and even property development. The motoring sector remains the most important sector for the group, and Naza remains one of the biggest names in the motor-trade industry of Malaysia.
For those of you who are not in the know, Tan Sri Dato’ Vincent Tan has a net worth of USD1.2 billion, and is the chairman and chief executive of the Berjaya Group, a multi-industry conglomerate, and the owner of 3 football clubs around the world and co-owner of the Los Angeles Football Club. Chryseis Tan is one of his 11 children.

She currently spearheads the daily operations of Berjaya Times Square as CEO, Berjaya Assets Berhad as executive director, and is the chairman of the board for entertainment hub TREC Kuala Lumpur.
Chryseis is also one of the driving forces behind health concept La Juiceria and Thai restaurant Greyhound Café. She is often seen jet-setting, travelling around the world to draw inspiration for the Berjaya Group businesses that she has taken under her wing. With Faliq, of course ðŸ˜‰
Faliq Nasimuddin, on the other hand, is the deputy executive chairman and group managing director of Naza TTDI, the property arm of Naza Corporation Group. His projects include the company’s developments such as the township of TTDI Alam Impian.
From what we know, they were dating for a couple of years before Faliq decided to pop the question on what appears to be a well-thought-of grand occasion.
