Security guard jailed five months for flashing woman at bus station


 
PETALING JAYA: A Bangladeshi security guard was sentenced to five months jail by the Magistrates Court here today for exposing himself to a woman at a bus station here last year.
Magistrate Salamiah Salleh handed down the sentence to Sualim Paraueg, 33,after he pleaded guilty to the charge of insulting the modesty of the 31-year-old customer service officer by exposing his genitals to her at the bus station in Persiaran Perdana, Bandar Sri Damansarahere, at around 6am on June 13, 2016.
The charge, under Section 509 of the Penal Code, carries a maximum jail term of five years or fine, or both, upon conviction.
The man was also sentenced to another five months jail and two strokes of the rotan after he pleaded guilty to a charge under Section 6(1)(C)of the Immigration Act 1963 for entering Malaysia without a valid travel document.
The court ordered the man to serve the jail sentences concurrently from Monday.
According to the facts of the case, the victim was waiting for a bus at the station when the accused, who was on a motorcycle, approached her and asked her to have sex with him, telling her that he was willing to pay.
When the woman rejected his offer and tried to walk away, the accused grabbed her by the blouse and backpack before flashing his genitals at her.
The victim lodged a police report immediately after the incident and the accused was identified during an identification parade on Dec 8, 2016. – Bernama
