Robbers killed in shootout with cops

KUALA LUMPUR: Two men believed to have been involved in armed robberies at construction sites were shot dead following a high-speed chase involving two cars in Sentul.
During the 3.30am incident yesterday, policemen in several patrol cars near a construction area in Bandar Baru Sentul spotted the two men in two cars.
When both suspects realised the policemen were approaching them, they sped off and had then split up at the junction near the Bandar Baru Sentul mosque.
When one of the cars was intercepted in front of the mosque, the driver swerved into the police car in his attempt to escape.
He also fired a shot at the police officers, who returned fire.
The second suspect was intercepted in Jalan Segambut when he hit another police car.
He fired a shot at the policemen, who then returned fire in self-defence.
Both suspects died on the spot.
