Man claims trial to raping girlfriend’s underage daughter
GEORGE TOWN: A 49-year-old man from Malacca was charged at a Sessions Court here with raping his girlfriend’s underage daughter.
Norman Kabil denied raping the 16-year-old girl at a flat in Bayan Lepas at around 12.30pm on April 7.
He also claimed trial in a second Sessions Court to another charge of raping the same girl, who was 15 years old at the time, on March 16 last year around 8pm at the same place.
Both offences under Section 376 of the Penal Code carry a penalty of up to 20 years in jail and whipping upon conviction.

Deputy Public Prosecutors Lim Saw Sim and Nurul Huda Idris did not offer bail owing to the nature and severity of the offences.
R. Sankra, appearing for the accused, said Norman needs to continue working as he is supporting three wives and nine school-going children.
Judges Irwan Suainbon and Norsalha Hamzah granted bail of RM10,000 on the first charge and RM8,000 on the second, for a total of RM18,000.
Norman is also required to report to the Bayan Lepas police station every month and is prohibited from approaching the victim.
The case has been fixed for mention at both courts on June 13.
